Firstly I have given 3 stars due to the fact i feel the POSH PIT is not what is advertised, not staff and views they were 5 stars. This is definitely the way to travel to the MONA Museum, to enjoy the the beautiful Hobart harbour and the views of the Derwent River. Based on the reviews we selected the Posh Pit which was $58 compared to standard $23 ticket. Posh Pit provides canapes and drinks, pictures in this review shows full plates of food, on our trip we received a thimble of soup and a bite size peice of pork???? Not sure when soup became a canape. Staff were friendly and ferry was clean but in no way "Posh" On return was 3 bite size desert samples, due to the amount of people I am guessing when I tried to get a coffee I was unable to, as we had already arrived back at wharf. Posh pit is not what you are expecting dont pay $58, go for the the standard $23 ticket. We went on the yellow camo boat which doesn't have the same posh pit as the grey one, I believe the photos on the reviews come from the grey one, these definitely dont reflect what we experienced, spent a week in a Hobart and this was the only place I...
Read moreAn unexpected highlight of the trip to MONA today was hands down the ferry trip! For an extra $30 you can be in the “posh pit” which gives you “free drinks, tiny food and inflated egos”. Maybe there should have been an Oxford comma there but I’ll pass it. Right from the start you’re greeted with a smile, in my case both ways from Max, then seated in the “evil-billionaire” themed lounge. The drinks flow immediately, more smiles from Lilly and Daniel as they very quickly, but quite professionally deliver friendly food and drinks service on the 25 minute trip. It’s great value for money - a drink with at least a top-up and some tasty bites to get you there at lunch time, then sweets on the way back. Airport lounges could learn a thing or two! I sat at the bar on the way back as I was on my own and got to have a great chat to Lilly and Daniel in between their running around to stay on top of the group. Amazing concept, good food and drink and top-notch staff in their very MONA uniforms, doing a great job. Spend the extra dollars,...
Read moreVery Happy and Excited to go Posh Pit....! Wonderful on the way to MONA..... given the table we wanted, had some Lovely duck with our Bubbles.... Happy staff..... Not so on the way back. 5pm Gold boat. We were Told to sit in a tiny cubicle, about 3ft x4ft..... 2 ladies in their 50s and one over 60 with a bad knee. We stood squashed in cubicle for about 5mins then we asked if we could pls sit at the small table next to the cubicle (that was obviously for 1person) and were told NO. After another 5mins of standing awkwardly in the cubicle we just sat at the little table and the man said "I might put other people with you if you're gonna sit there" we didn't care by then.... after hours of walking around MONA we needed to sit. The young lady serving the Bubbles was run off her feet and very Lovely about how slow the service was as she was really trying her Best, sometimes carrying 4 plates at a time on a moving boat. We were Lucky to...
