The coffee here was horrible weak and barely warm. And the staff were rude. I heard them say to another couple that they donât have almond milk, just milk. Ok no problem for me I suppose, but then I asked for a sweetener, and I was snapped back at too that they âjust have sugarâ . Ok right but people have dietary needs, or even wants and not to provide milk alternatives or sweetener in a place that serves coffee that youâre paying for? I was also told we were only allowed to sit down with our coffee if it was in a âceramic cupâ I said we would just like to sit till the rain stopped so could we have it in a take away cup- was told no. To sit we needed to have it in a ceramic cup. So many weird rules and restrictions on us purchasing a coffee! They were playing good music and the atmosphere of the place seemed nice, so we thought it looked like a great place, was made to feel hugely uncomfortable and...
Read moreArrived at the Sunday 9am ferry 40 minutes early looking forward to having a nice coffee before we got on and chat about the lovely art we were going to be seeing. When my Mum ordered her coffee the lady taking the orders had to ask her to repeat her order as she couldnât hear. The music was blaring. My mother asked if she could turn the music down, her curt reply was âthe music stays at this levelâ. My mother is 80. The coffee was lovely and my croissant was perfect. Unfortunately we couldnât chat nor even think as the heavy bass beat in songs was overwhelming. It wasnât bad music just a bit much at 8.45am on a Sunday. I guess this is an issue of, is this an environment for the workers in their workplace or the patrons who keep The place running? Itâs up to the individual I suppose. But I would not recommend having your coffee here if you are looking forward to your trip to Mona cos itâs just a bad...
Read moreOrdered a coffee and crumpet here with my mum. The coffees were nice but the crumpets werenât what we were expecting, they were thick and doughy and tasted undercooked. We couldnât eat them as the dough hadnât been cooked through. My mum told the staff and was told âthey are handmade sourdough crumpets they arenât like what you get in the supermarketâ My mum replied, âwe canât eat them as they arenât cooked throughâ I then watched the girl behind the counter throw them away angrily as my mum walked back to me. No compensation was offered to us, or alternatives, so a waste of $16.
my rating is based on their bad customer service and mishandling of the situation. The sign advertising the crumpets made no mention of them being âsourdoughâ and even if it did, they werenât cooked. They could have offered us a refund or some...
