Stunning! I visited the Retreat Garden during a solo trip to the Bahamas and was not disappointed! Nature therapy at its best. On a weekday morning there was only one other individual walking the grounds (doing yoga), making it a great get away from the bustle of nearby tourist areas. I highly recommend visiting the Retreat!

Attended the International Culture Wine & Food Festival... held in October. You should attend if you are in town. 35 local bahamian booths, and another 65+ international booths. Entrance fee + pay for food... can get a little pricey if you let it.

The greenery is gorgeous & it's a nice, secluded area to host events. Lots of space for kids to play as well. A family-friendly environment.

Visited late April 2024 and the entire place seemed very different than the rest of the reviews and photos on Google. It was very overgrown and unkept, and seems like it hasn’t been maintained in awhile. Large wooden deck at the top looks completely unsafe and falling apart. There were literally bats hanging in the shell grotto and the little stream and pond were non operational and green. There’s a broken down truck across from the playground and although someone was doing construction on a building there are no restrooms at the moment. I’d say not worth your time if you’re just a tourist on a short stay, even though the folks we spoke to around there were so kind and welcomed us to the garden. I think it is owned by the humane society. There was no admission fee, you just drive up and...

I walked all the way from downtown Nassau to the Botanical Garden, only to find out that they are closed and have been for 18 months. They do not plan to open again for a few years as they suffered alot of damage during the hurricane two years ago. It would be helpful if the website was corrected to say it is closed. Other people showed up at the same time and were also...
