Staying at Atlantis but wanted authentic food that didn't cost your first born child. This was the place. First, going to "Fish Fry" is an area, not an activity. The cab drivers all seem to have their favorites and will tell you the "best" place. We asked multiple locals and they gave us top choices - Oh Andros kept coming up, so we tried it. And honestly went there again the next day. It feels a little aggressive at first because the waitresses come outside to the cab to snag you. I mean, what if you aren't ready to commit? But we went for it and it was a great choice. Our cab driver said for 3 people, get 2 dinners and share. Do not get 3. In my mind I thought, sure- does he not see I have 2 starving boys and we haven't eaten all day? We decided to get the conch salad and share a fried seafood platter. It comes with a mound of peas and rice and a choice of 2 sides. We chose potato salad and plantains the first day and potato salad (it was THAT good) the second day with macaroni (baked mac and cheese with a definite spicy kick). We also got conch fritters (10 for $5). 1) you will walk away stuffed. 2) food does take a while to come. Bring something to draw on or a phone for kids who can't wait. 3) cash only, tip is not included. 4) try the sky juice. It's my new favorite alcoholic drink. And at $7, a nice change from the $16 resort cocktails. All together, we ordered the seafood platter ($40), conch salad ($15), conch fritters ($5), two sky juices ($14). You can't beat those prices for the amount of food. Well worth a 15 minute cab ride ($30 each way).

Strongly advise people not to patronize this business! The customer service is deplorable. Went in tonight... Ordered and so did the person with me. We ordered 1 appetizer, for which I had to retrieve the napkins. The waitress came about 5mins later with one set of utensils... Even though it was TWO people at the table. ... Ok, so maybe she forgot.. My company then ordered an entrée for there and to go. I ordered 1 entrée aswell. 40 mins later, in which time 5 people came in and ordered to go plates and left. 3 new groups came in and got entrées before we did! Ok... Maybe there is a reasoning as to why someone who ordered the same thing I did... Was eating before my company and I. The waitress then sets down my entré... No fork... Doesn't return to the table for over 10mins. (Am I supposed to use my hands???). I then asked the bus boy for a manger... At which time the waitress returned and stated that she had brought one set of utensils... I let the manager know that I was very displeased with the service. An no longer wished to eat my entrée. I payed for my appetizer, drinks and the to go entrée. (only because the person we ordered it for had to eat within a paticular time frame) The bus boy also apologized for the inconvenience and stated that he didn't know why my paticular table seemed to take extra long to be served.. Or why utensils would never be put out. Upon exciting the "restaurant"... A couple that came in after me, said they would have just left... Because even they saw the blatantly awful service. I will NEVER SUPPORT OR RECOMMEND this business again! The Assistant Manager seemed as nonchalant as the waitress. Even as she served her tables that were seated after us! If anyone knows how I was expected to eat this food without utensils and be sanitary... Please inform me. A waste of an hour and a half... An $28.99 To top it off.. I didn't even get my penny back.

We had the snapper dinner, shrimp and lobster combo dinner, and a side order of Conch fritters. Including tip, this came out to about $55 for 4 people and we had plenty of rice left over. The Conch fritters were good, but inconsistent. I was expecting more Conch - we had some fritters that had multiple pieces of Conch and some that had none. They were like slightly spicy hush puppies that sometimes had Conch in them. The snapper dinner came with two whole fish and was pretty good. Seems like a good deal for $17. The lobster shrimp combo came with one lobster tail and about 5-6 shrimp. Pretty tasty, but if I could have done it over again I might have just gone with the lobster dinner - not sure if that comes with two tails or just one. I haven't tried enough to test this theory, but It seems like the combo dinners aren't as good of a bang for your buck. You pay more to get multiple types of meat, but you may still get the same amount of meat overall. So before you order a combo, you might want to ask how many pieces of meat it comes with compared to just the single dinner option. The plantains were not as sweet as I was hoping for, but the mac and cheese was delicious. This was our first dinner in Nassau, so we didn't have anything to compare it to, but overall a good meal. Unfortunately they don't take credit cards, so make sure you bring enough cash.

I’m a born Bahamian, who knows a thing or two about Bahamian cuisine, and I highly, highly recommend Oh Andros to any and all seeking good Bahamian/Haitian food at very good prices. There may be more aesthetically pleasing restaurants at the Fish Fry than Oh Andros, but I can assure you that there aren’t any serving tastier food, and definitely no others serving said tasty food in larger portion sizes. The meals here are simply gargantuan! I have yet to finish one in a single sitting. Instead, I get 2-3 meals out of one! And their prices here are very reasonable. My favorite dish here is the pork griot (Haitian fried pork chunks) for $17. If you are familiar with Latin fried pork, then you will be familiar with this dish, as it is exactly the same. Crisp fried chunks of pork with a tender delicious inside. My favorite side served at Oh Andros is their piklez - think Cole slaw minus the mayonnaise with a vinegary, spicy (Scotch bonnet pepper) taste. It is THE perfect accompaniment to any dish. And no visit to Oh Andros would be complete without their Sky Juice (gin & coconut water) for a bargain basement $7. I’ve tried countless other versions at numerous other restaurants at the Fish Fry, and I can say conclusively that Oh Andros’s is THE best! Strong and not watered down. Don’t let anyone tell you different. Run, don’t walk, to Oh Andros!

After viewing other poster's reviews here's what I have to say. I dined in the early afternoon on a Friday. There wasn't a ton of people and so I really didn't have to wait. After we chose our table we received pretty prompt service. It didn't take very long to get the conch fritters I ordered. They were absolutely awesome! Nice size, and I can taste the conch. I was pretty much full at that point but then our three main dishes came and I instantly knew I would not be able to eat all of mine. My cracked conch was good as was the cracked lobster but some of the breading could have been fried a little more as it was a little bit doughy. But still, I enjoyed the food and the presentation. My sides were mac and cheese and plantains. The mac and cheese wasn't bad but not to my taste. Also the sweet plantains were a little hard, not ripe enough to be sweet. My two sons also had "Bahama Papas" (a stronger version of the Bahama Mama"and they enjoyed. The atmosphere was a little too dark for my taste but I sat right under a light so I could see my food. No indoor bathrooms at this restaurant (most don't have them here) but you can use the public restroom across the street. Be advised they don't take credit cards so you must have cash and they also automatically will add in the 15% gratuity.

The best place to experience not only the delicious bahamian cuisine, but also the local and vibrant culture. This little restaurant is located in the popular “Fish Fry” area, where you can find many of these tiny bars offering typical fry fish but also chicken and other bahamian dishes, just 10 minutes drive from Baha Mar and from Downtown Nassau. Oh Andros is popular for its gentle portions and delicious food, so make sure to go there with an appetite. A must have is the typical Congh salad, which is freshly made and tastes delicious. Then I suggest you get some of their “mains”, where you can choose from fried or grilled white fish, lobster, shrimps but also chicken and they come with the bahamian rice&peas and then you can choose two sides- our favorites were the piklez (spicy cabbage salad), the green plantain and the mac&cheese. Since the portions are huge, one main is enough for two persons. Another dish worth trying is the crab salad, fresh and super yummy. The waiting time can be long but that’s not necessary a downside, since you can take this time to relax and admire the warmth of the Bahamians laughing and chatting around you. Value for money is great and the staff is super friendly and warm, so definitely worth it.
