The Bosnian Cultural Center in Sarajevo is a landmark venue housed in a former synagogue, blending history with contemporary culture. It hosts concerts, theater, film festivals, and exhibitions, making it a hub for the city’s artistic scene. The architecture is impressive, with a mix of old and modern elements, and the acoustics are excellent for performances. A must-visit for those interested in Bosnia’s cultural life, offering a vibrant program that connects tradition with...

We wanted to find out more about Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson's gig he played in Sarajevo in 1994 during the siege. In the end, we were given a private tour of the venue, learned that it used to be a Jewish synagogue until the second world war, and ended up in a deep discussion about local politics. (We can't remember the name of the person we spoke to, but he was a Professor of English Language and oversaw bookings at the venue.) What an unexpected...

BKC was established in a former synagogue and has a big cultural influence worldwide. The main theatre hall is huge, and is also an information seat for Sarajevo fim festival. Acoustics are very good, but the screen is a little bit small.
