The food is good, menu simple, and location super quaint and authentic. But if you’re a foreign tourist beware — I had a shady experience with my girlfriend there. Long story short — they tried to bump up the price by a few KM probably thinking we wouldn’t notice. To be perfectly honest, prices in Sarajevo in general are pretty affordable, but this practice of scamming tourists is not cool at all. Read the entire thing for more info.
Basically, I’m from Balkans and she’s from Spain, meaning I speak and understand the language perfectly while my lady speaks English. The order went smooth enough, we had a menu to pick from and got ourselves some ćevapi and things to go with them. The food was good, i can’t complain. However, once we requested the bill things took a weird turn. Firstly, the girl working told me the price without showing me the bill, and I thought it sounded about right, gave an okay tip as well. But one thing seemed weird — how come every single guest (all locals) got a printed receipt, but we just got the final price? Moreover, when comparing the price with the prices in the menu there was a difference. We requested a paper receipt to make sure everything was okay. Instead of a printed fiscal bill like every other customer received we got a handwritten bill with a stamp, and what’s even more interesting the price was different on that one. Finally, we asked for a bill like the ones we saw everyone else was getting, and to make things even weirder, that one had a different price calculation as well. The owner and his daughters got into explaining their reasoning and prices, showing different menus with different prices etc. Basically, there was no real reference point because every menu had a slight price difference in it meaning they could justify any price change in the final bill. To tell the whole truth, they did apologize and offer the money back, which we did not accept. It really wasn’t about a few KM, but a dark practice which discriminates paying customers for no good reason. I am never happy to find myself in any unpleasant situation, but someone had to...

Read moreĆevabdžinica Nunez was the very first place we tried upon arriving in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it couldn’t have been a better introduction to the country’s rich culinary scene. Conveniently located near our Airbnb, it was an easy and tempting choice after a long journey and it absolutely delivered.
The aroma of grilled meat welcomed us from the street, setting the tone for what turned out to be a truly satisfying meal. The ćevapi were perfectly seasoned and juicy, served with freshly baked somun and creamy kajmak that tied everything together. Every bite felt like a warm welcome to Bosnia - hearty, flavorful, and authentic. The burger stuffed with cheese (can’t remember what it was called) was also quite delicious and something I’d really recommend. We tried their homemade apple juice which was very refreshing and tied the whole meal together.
What made it even more special was the genuine hospitality and relaxed, local vibe of the place. It wasn’t just about the food; it was the whole experience. Ćevabdžinica Nunez gave us a delicious glimpse into Bosnian culture and set the bar high for the rest of our trip.
Looking back, we couldn’t have asked for a better start to our holiday. This place turned a simple meal into a...
