The Reconciliation Bridge is an oldish truss bridge originally built in 1910 and originally called the Langevin Bridge (named after Sir Hector-Louis Langevin, one of the fathers of the Canadian Confederation). The bridge took on its new name in 2017.

The bridge is a typical structure for the time it was built, and is the third oldest of 4 surviving examples of this type of bridge in Calgary. Truss bridges, i.e. bridges made of interconnecting triangular units, look like an engineer's dream. It looks like its made of giant Meccano.

The bridge is attractive during the day and well lit up at night. The bridge connects into the Bow River Pathway system, and has pathways for pedestrians to cross the river (as...
