The hotel is every bit as beautiful as the photos, I really did enjoy the inviting beauty of the rooms & comfy bed. I also enjoyed the fact that within a 10 minute walking distance, there's a wide array of cuisine and shopping readily available. When I checked out, the tall blonde bellman/doorman was nice to say goodbye, but the real star is a gentleman with dark hair and glasses that was flowering the plants that ran up and made sure I was helped to load my suitcases into the uber. HOWEVER, the following has proved to be confusing and perhaps needed more training. Check in: As a lifetime Platinum and current Titanium member, I have had 4pm late checkout with not a problem globally. However, the young lady checking me in, insisted their property collection is a 2pm late checkout facility & i can call down the day of my checkout an enquire if 4pm is possible. After my partner pointed out on Marriott bonvoy site of the late checkout for titaniums, she said she will "upgrade" me to a 4pm checkout? Ok...interesting. Sound Proof: We had the room 2112 and the elevator ding is very noticeable in room. Housekeeping: I understand they work very hard & needs morale. It would be greatly appreciated to keep laughing at the hallway on a slightly lower volume. Also, it was a bit odd to exit the elevator at my floor and see housekeeping staff chillaxing on the chair of the elevator foyer. They were as shocked to lock eyes with me, as I was with the lovely ladies. Wilde Restaurant/Bar: I understand F&B is hard work, but please try to keep the complaining and displease of the tipping distribution system conversation private. Not when customers are still trying to enjoy your amazing cocktails or wine in the evenings. I really do enjoy the hardware of Dorian...I'm just not sure if the service quality could match the establishment.

My recent stay at the Dorian Calgary had its ups and downs. To start with the positives, the hotel's location is indeed in a good spot, and I found the decor quite interesting, adding a unique touch to the experience. However, there were several disappointments during my stay. The room I stayed in was not spacious, which was a bit of a letdown. The real frustration began at the reception desk. The staff member I encountered was far from pleasant, first claiming I didn't have a booking and then arguing about the name on my reservation, despite being a Gold Elite member with all the details readily available on my Bonvoy app. Inside the room, I discovered a trail of alcohol bottles, which was concerning, especially since I had a toddler with me who immediately went to play with them. When I called the service for assistance, the staff member who came to remove the beverage trail didn't even bother to knock on the door but instead opened it and walked in without warning. All in all, my stay at the Dorian Calgary was a disappointment, marred by issues with room size, unhelpful reception, and an unsettling experience in the room.

The Dorian, is not ready for prime time. Being that the hotel is brand new it is understandable that there is still kinks to work out.. Our room had several non functioning lights and power outlets. The property was beautifully themed but was small and cramped. The restaurant on the second floor was bare, cold and dark. The windows in the room were small and difficult to look out of due to a couch being in the way. The staff would not allow Uber eats to deliver to our room, and offered to bring our order up. Though after 20 minutes the hotel staff did not arrive, I went down to investigate and found that the front desk forgot about our order. So this resulted in two cold pizzas. The staff did not seem to care. I received a $8 mini bar charge after checkout and because I didn’t actually use the mini bar, I messaged in to inquire. Was told they made a mistake and I would be refunded. The refund was short by $0.40, I honestly don’t care about forty cents but it goes to show that as a new hotel they have a lot to learn.. I’m still waiting for my Bonvoy night credit and bonus points too..

Love this hotel so much. It’s absolutely gorgeous. The rooms are designed for a modern era and they think of little details like a adding a steamer as well. We were upgraded to a larger room and truly appreciated it. The vibe is fabulous. The only thing we disliked, was the restaurant on the top floor, “The Wilde”. It was beyond disappointing. The buffet options were way overpriced and just looked sad beyond compare. We decided to get à la carte and it very bland, simple and boring. Staff was friendly and the views were nice but that restaurant is truly being wasted. Overall this hotel is definitely worth staying at. No need to use valet parking as it literally is right next to self park. You couldn’t be any closer! Also it is connected to the Courtyard and it gets a little confusing as some floors lead you straight there. Better signage would be great. Had a fabulous time :)

My husband and I live just outside of Calgary but our gift to each other for any occasion is a night in downtown Calgary. We decided to try the Dorian this time and we will be back! Besides the charm of this hotel and location, the staff went above and beyond. Anyone you met in the halls, elevators, front desk, restaurants, valet, were aways making sure you were enjoying your stay and were comfortable. Such an amazing staff, I can’t say enough! We have stayed at alot of resorts/hotels and have never had this attentive of service. Rooms were spacious and so unique. We of course had to purchase the Oscar Wilde novel from the front desk. I did not know much about Oscar Wilde before the hotel but left with a full literature experience. There was art everywhere you look which made the stay a magical experience. Cannot wait to stay again!
