Very disappointed in my boyfriend and i’s first experience here. We were told great reviews about this place and decided we wanted to come and try it out. When we first arrived on a Sunday it was very busy(which is understandable) but it was extremely hot in the place. We went to the front desk and the girl who had approached us wasn’t very friendly and was rushing to stop talking to us and get us started as fast as possible. She didn’t explain to us anything and every time we had asked her a question she gave us very bland responses. Took us about 2 hours to get halfway done and then they had closed. They told us we were able to come back any day and time of the week to finish our paintings up. We returned on a Thursday night and after about 20 minutes of us searching for our unfinished paintings we saw one of ours and realized they had already put one of them in the kilms. As frustrated as we were we were keeping calm and friendly and then after waiting and searching for the other painting the one lady said she would call her boss and ask if we can redo them as one was put in the kilm while unfinished and the other one was lost and we were still never able to find it. We asked the lady if she could ask her boss if they could give us a refund and she said she would ask without a problem. When she came back to us she said her boss said they don’t do refunds and could only give us a credit. Very frustrating, as we should be able to get our money back for THEIR mess up. These paintings are not cheap and so i am very frustrated that they will not give me my money back and saying we can come back to redo our paintings. I want my money back and i believe that if they mess up they should give us our money back. We will now have to come back and make our moneys worth now since they won’t give my money back. Very...

Found out about Crankpots through their “sale” on Groupon. Just for starters there literally is no sale or deal, on Groupon it says the ticket price is originally $55 and it’s on “sale” for $33 but you pay the price difference in store. Which is cash or etransfer only btw.

It is obviously an intentional effort for misleading advertising cause you can’t pick a $55 piece with the Groupon, and of course this isn’t explained to you until AFTER you’ve picked the piece you want to paint. On the first day me and my husband went the two workers there were not very knowledgeable about their cash register so it took about 10 minutes to pay for our pieces and the one girl training the new girl was constantly complaining about the owner and how many shifts she was getting. It would have been easy to ignore her if the complaining wasn’t nonstop.

On the second day we booked our appointment over the phone but when we arrived to paint at noon we were then told we would only have 2 hours to paint like ????? tell me that when I book the appointment so I can choose a different day and not randomly get a time limit when I arrive.

Also the brushes make any type of detail work impossible and only after we finished, and another table was complaining about the brushes were we told by an employee that there was better brushes by the register that are available for use….okay but how could we have known that? I didn’t even initially see them. If you don’t finish painting on the first day your piece goes in a random drawer around the room and you have to find yourself when you come back to complete. You have to make an appointment for literally everything and sometimes they just don’t answer the phone. I liked how my mushroom house turned out but a medium sized piece chipped...

It’s been a while since this whole thing happened but I’m just finally getting around to writing about it. Last November(2024) my friend and I went into the studio and picked out some pieces, my friend then went in a few weeks later to get our finished pieces and they let her know that they didn’t have my mug because they accidentally gave it to someone else who had called and told them they got the wrong piece. We were told the studio would follow up with the other people to try to get my mug back and after a few weeks of waiting we went back to ask, they said they were still waiting to follow up but they could offer us a voucher or a refund. Neither were given. I few months later I went in again after still hearing nothing and still no refund and I asked again for them to contact the other people and give my my refund, they were rude and dismissive basically saying it’s not their problem. I wrote down my email because they only do e-transfer and never received my refund. It’s been months now and I’ve been to busy and honestly just so frustrated and upset with the whole situation that I haven’t gone back in. The most upsetting part to me is how hard I worked on my mug just for them to not care about it and claim it’s not their problem. Crank pots if you read this I want my refund. And if by some miracle the person who has my mug is readying this it is a round grey mug with green and brown hearts on it, this would have been around the end of November so if you have a mug that fits that description and it’s not one you painted it would mean the world to me to get it back. Overall I’m extremely disappointed with the whole situation and I would absolutely...

Edit: super disappointed with the last two times I went here. Last time I went with my friends they lost one of our items and did not own up to it nor give my friend a refund. And the time before my mug was not properly glazed so it cracked and can't be safely used now. Such a disappointment since this place usually has the best ceramic options and great prices. Seems to be going downhill. I love coming to this spot. They have the widest selection of ceramics to paint and plenty of colors. You have to make an appointment and it isn't easy to get a hold of them (often no one answers the phone), but I've left messages for appointments and it's worked out fine. They have "no studio fee" days and deals like buy one mug and get the second $20 off, which can make it much more affordable to go!

Olivia was so helpful, friendly, and kind! They answered all of our questions, had great advice to make our pieces turn out their best, and knew the process super well from start to finish. On top of that, they were super sweet and encouraging the whole time while very professionally balancing the frequent phone calls and bustle of getting finished objects all ready for others to pick up. We had a fantastic time, and our items turned out great. I was even able to pick up my pasta bowl after just 6 days, ahead of the projected 7-10 days wait. Painting surfaces were well-spaced and tidy, and there were plenty of objects, paint, and tools to choose from. I would definitely recommend this location :)

Based off the poor condition I got my stuff in I sadly have nothing good I can say in my review as after the time and money spent on my projects to get them back with multiples smudges, lots of little specs, and a chip on my cup is more than disappointing to say the least which is why I would not recommended anyone wasting their time or money to complete pottery here! Also find it slightly appalling that the studio took zero owner ship and made absolutely no effort to rectify or compensate me for ruining my projects even after leaving a review on their Facebook page in May of this year! So again would not recommend anyone else waste their time of money at crank-pots!!!!
