My experience at Lansdowne mall is absolutely horrible. AlI i wanted to do was get a transfer of data from a chatr provider to a new used samsung phone. I felt cultural discrimination being that I am Not chinese and don't speak mandarine or Cantonese. I first started at best (that's where I bought the pgone) directed to go an independent cell store. From there to Freedom, from. Freedom to Chatr, hatr to ac assessors. from ac accessories back to Freedom. The freedom agent was sonewhat jind but gis colleague piped in and speaking Chinese would talk shot about me to him Even though i dont know the language, I know they were speajing ill if me. That #karen was trying to direct me to another assessors store wtf!!!! And then came back to best buy and demanded help. I have a vision impairment and was in Dier need of assistance, i wear medical glasses. All mobility sites would give me bs excuses why they couldn't help and direct me to another venue. All places would speak to each other in Chinese and conspire against me. Being a naturally born canadian, never have I felt like a second class citizen. Disgusting attitude. I live in kamloops, and being a minority I always heard poor of the again community. Be a proper Christian, I refused to lower myself to that judging mentality. After this disrespectful discriminating experience. RICHMOND IS A SHITHole city only for asain. Positive note Pinkish from Best Buy is the only gentleman that actually fought to other colleagues infront of customers to assist me. There was another asain manager and asain lady arguing w him to pass me to another chair to wait. Pinkish said No, he is still need of assistance. I will never come here again. Pinkesh deserves a raise and promotion From Born canadian...
Read moreThis mall closes on time and they don't care that you have to walk through a maze to get back to your car. This is because the mall puts up all the metal gates to block you off from certain exits at the exact same time the shops close. So by the time you walk to the closest exit to your vehicle you aren't able to exit. We walked from Toysrus back to our car at the homesense exit and was not able to leave. We had to find another exit and lug all our bags around one side of the mall the next. This mall closes earlier than other Richmond malls and they don't consider that you need time to walk to your car. If you plan to stay till they close consider parking at not the homesense exit so you dont have to walk as far. Homesense also opens later so I'm not sure why this mall likes to block off access to them so they have less business. Mall management should consider putting up metal gates at least a bit later so ppl can leave the same exit they entered.Very frustrating and inconvenient for shoppers.
This mall is not as popular as Richmond center but definitely love the ample parking space. I enjoy this mall more because it is less crowded. Great mall for the frugal shopper. This mall has a homesense and a winners, a dollarama and Langley farm market. My must visit places include the above and also a shop that sells Asian snacks and condiments called smart N save. This is my stop for calbee chips, hong kong noodles and milk tea mixes. Also a great place to check out for affordable dresses from Bryan's. There is also a multitude of restaurants in the mall on top of their food court. Don't forget to stop by fairbee for a bbt or anna's bakery for a coffee tart. Also homesense and winners so great...
Read moreMall administration should be replaced, probably by Cadillac Fairview. I think the staff working there now might be inept or incompetent. Take for example on Monday, September 19, 2022. The mall actually closes at 7PM, not 8PM. Their offical website says 8pm. There are no signs posted anywhere regarding the change in hours. September 19 is not an official holiday in BC but the Premier made an exception for provincial government establishments only. Any employee working today cannot claim overtime according to the Employment Standards Act which does not recognize 2022-09-19 as a holiday.
In any event, the mall administrator seemed to be clueless or negligent to realize the difference. Moreover, they didn't make any effort to post the modified hours for 2022-09-19 on their website. Many customers were shocked when they arrived after 7PM. Additionally, many shops open and close any time they want which is contrary to typical mall rules for businesses. They should remain [fully] open during mall hours.
I think the sooner this mall is demolished, the better it is. The mall at the best of times is like a ghost town except for T&T and Best Buy during Boxing Day.
I feel mall administration staff probably (in my opinion) couldn't even get your order right if they worked at McDonald's. The mall is a joke and I feel bad for the merchants who are...
