last sunday i rented out a picnic area for my daughers birthday party. we were rudely greeted by the security guard, who clearly was upset judging by the scowl on her face, crossed arms and the tone in her voice and her body language all together. i had rented picnic area 5 between 1-4pm. she approached us around 1:40 pm making everyone of my guests feel uncomfortable... told us we should pack up our things now because the new group was going to be there for 5... and "THEY NEED TIME TO SET UP" . i said "mam is 1:40 i still have quite a bit of time left in the area.' She then proceeded to tell me she didnt have a list with my name on it at all, and only after catching her in her lie about not having a list was i able to prove to her that i was good here until 4............ she had a look at my last name and proceeded to tell me that i must be portuguese or italian because ... and i quote " i know how your people are!" with the most disgusted look on her face. and then stood under a tree directly next to the tables we were located at and watched us while she mumbled under her breath to herself the whole time.she looked like a lunatic. my guests and i all were made out to feel like we weren't suppose to be there. it was awful ! the security company that the oakville parks hire needs to do a better with screening their employees. Her social skills suck! shes clearly prejudice, maybe even racist? ! she has terrible customer service skills. i did absolutely nothing to break any of the rules. my group was quiet and wasnt causing any problems. there was absolutely no reason for me or anyone in my group to be spoken to so rudely. we winded up leaving early....... she was just staring at us for almost another 40 mins, just feet away from where we were after having that very uncomfortable chat with her. the park is awesome. splash pad is awesome washroom and concession area ... awesome the lady who was there asking for permits from the security company on sunday july 29th .....ruined the whole day for my family. i probably wont ever rent a picnic area with the city of...
