Gentry Lane - Lotus of Ontario — Attraction in Toronto

I was fortunate enough to deal with Paul Simoes at Gentry Lane. It was a bit intimidating walking into a higher end dealership for the first time, but Paul made the buying experience better than any car shopping experience I'd ever had. We connected on many levels, personally and professionally, and he is a major car enthusiast himself. I was interested in the Emira, and at the time the buying process was lengthy. However, Paul kept me engaged through the months of waiting - he invited my family and I to come check out the car at Gentry Lane once they had initially arrived, a few months later he invited me to visit their exhibit at the Canadian Auto Show where he gave my son and I the VIP treatment and we got to sit in the car, and most recently he brought me in to test drive an Emira in the colour he knew I wanted (zinc gray). Every encounter I had with Paul at Gentry Lane was a positive one, and I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a high end vehicle in the GTA. I have been going to this Lotus dealership for quite some time to utilize their services and, I think the customer as always been superb.

The head mechanic is very knowledgable and willing to give you insight and helpful tips on how to maintain classic and vintage cars, I recently recently found out That he teaches auto mechanic as a professor, which makes me feel safe, bring my car In service, knowing that someone who is exceptionally knowledgable and skilled will be working on it.

The sales manager, Paul is very professional and easy-going, and does not hesitate to provide adequate information about the vehicles

I find that the cost for detailing was more than reasonable. Weird place. Went to check out car to buy listed on the website, was directed to pick it up in Florida (what?) or bid on an old Alfa on site but listed on BaT (pay in USD, the buyers fee, and not get the mechanical checked or a test drive) or pay their "ridiculous retail prices" (direct owner quote).... More wackyness in talking about the Emira and deposits.

I guess it's being honest, but my idea of a dealership is that they have cars on the lot to sell, which they do..... BUT*.

My honest after this experience is never purchasing or recommending Gentry or Lotus for that matter. I will be buying a private sale convertible, and if I'm in the country next year, obviously skip Lotus (can't buy anyways- and his insiders bought up the first 30+ cars and going to mark them up to "ridiculous retail prices") (my quote) and pick up far better sports car, a used...
