My visit to Saint Michael’s Cathedral in Toronto for the Christmas mass was nothing short of a divine experience. Arriving early at around 10:30 AM for the 12 PM mass proved to be a wise decision, as it allowed us to secure seats in the third row, offering an unobstructed view of the Bishop and the enchanting proceedings of the mass.
The cathedral itself is a masterpiece of architectural beauty, especially following its recent renovation. It’s evident that great care and thought were put into its restoration, bringing out the intricate details of its design while preserving its historical essence. The interior of the cathedral, bathed in the soft glow of lights, with majestic Christmas trees and vibrant poinsettias strategically placed, created an atmosphere of warmth and solemnity fitting for the occasion.
A standout feature of the service was the celestial music provided by the choir from Saint Michael’s Choir School. Their harmonious voices added an ethereal quality to the mass, elevating the entire experience to a transcendent level. The choir’s performance was not just a musical act but a heartfelt expression of faith and celebration, perfectly capturing the spirit of Christmas.
Saint Michael’s Cathedral, with its splendid architecture, soulful choir, and a sense of sacred serenity, offers a truly unique experience. It stands out as a gem in Toronto’s landscape of worship places. I would highly recommend anyone, regardless of their religious affiliations, to attend mass here, especially during special occasions like Christmas. It’s an experience that nourishes the soul, uplifts the spirit, and showcases the beauty of communal faith and...
Read moreTwo people running St. Michael's homes. It's a non profit organization. It's being funded by public donations and grants. The two main guys that run This organization are racists. He thinks he's very smath not knowing some days I don't know when some authority will figure out what exactly he's doing with some of the money in regards to spending money on repairs and purchases of things for the organization something is wrong. They don't like black people. I was fired because I am black and can't get my tools from there. If you are black and offer a job be very careful and be ready to accept...
Read moreStunning church in the middle of the city. Amazing architecture design inside and out. Great service too! I've been here several times.
One Sunday, I went before 12 noon to attend the mass. There was no line going inside. Before the mass started, I went to use the washroom and noticed that there were staff in the entrance door controlling the number of people to go inside. They have a tally of how many people were there. Maybe in order to stop letting people in if it's getting crowded inside.
If you are a tourist and want to buy souvenirs, follow the stairs going to the washroom and you'll find the store. There's also a crypt chapel if you walk through but it's closed.
If you go weekdays, sometimes the washroom is not open but you can ask the staff...
