This review is strictly about the Security kiosk and the horrible security "guard" that was supposedly "working" there on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 9:45 am. I went to the washrooms that are by the LCBO. Finding them locked and a sign saying they did not open until 12 pm! on Saturdays, I went to ask at the security desk if there were other washrooms open and what time the mall actually opened. I went to the desk and the female security guard was playing a game on her phone. I cleared my throat and she looked up, annoyed. I started to ask her a question and she put her hand up and told me to come to the other side of the kiosk. I approached and said "Hi, how are you?" She just glared at me, her expression angry and said nothing. I asked her: " Are there washrooms that are open?" She said "Yeah" and turned her back! Not being psychic, I said "Might you tell me where they are?" She pointed in the vicinity of the escalator that led to the food court. Pointed and said nothing. Clearly an educated class-act here! I then asked her "What time does the mall open?" She said " Each store opens when they feel like it." Wow! Clearly, this employee of this mall hates her job, hates people (or perhaps hates women of a certain race?) Coming back to the mall later that morning, I saw her laughing and conversing with people of her own ethnic group, so I guess it was a race thing. Sad. And really disgusting. In case anyone from mall management reads this, the security guard in question was female, short, with long unkempt hair pulled back into a ponytail and terrible acne. She needs a lesson on how to deal with the public, and needs to understand that Toronto is home to people of all races, religions and we all need to be treated with an equal amount of dignity...
Read moreI am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding a troubling incident that occurred at the Chipotle location managed by Yonge and Eglinton Property Management within the Yonge and Eglinton Centre on November 4, 2024. While I was enjoying my meal, a security guard from VP Protection Incorporated, acting without any direction from restaurant staff, approached me in a rude and aggressive manner, demanding that I leave.
This guard used profanity and was verbally abusive, even resorting to shouting xenophobic slurs related to my accent. When I asked him to treat me with respect, he only escalated his aggression and refused to show me his security license when I requested it.
As a customer, I expect a welcoming and safe environment, but this experience left me feeling deeply disrespected and uncomfortable. It raises significant concerns about the conduct and authorization of the security personnel employed in this property. I urge Yonge and Eglinton Property Management to review the hiring and training practices for security staff to ensure that all patrons are treated with dignity and respect.
I hope to see changes in how customer service and security interactions are managed in the future to prevent other customers from enduring a...
Read moreGood as Metro grocery store is open late. There is a movie theatre there and one across the street in the Canada Square across the street above the Yonge Eglinton subway station. There are many restaurants along both Eglinton and Yonge. North of Eglinton there is the Container Store. Fun for a look and organization inspiration but a bit pricey. See Dollar store after here to see if you can find same ideas. The lower floor is more fun. South from Eglinton (about 7 or 8 blocks is the Kitchen Store. So much great stuff. Fairly priced to very pricey. But all sorts of one of a kind finds. And a separate tool for every use you can think of. They have a micro planer for zest in and another for garlic and a third for nuts. I can use one for all three uses. It's a great gadget store (if you have the storage space for it). Or a gift for the person who has everything. However the construction on the corners is outrageous. All the shortcuts have been closed off and now you have to follow confusing signs or go way out of your way to cross the street. My suggestion is to get off the stop before the station (check bus routes) and walk to...
