La Lucia Hair — Attraction in Vancouver

My mom and I had been regulars here for the last 2 years. This time I requested to get my hair dyed to medium brown hair with Kelly (my natural hair colour is medium to dark brown).

After $230+GST+tips, my hair turned BLACK. When she was drying my hair, I was obviously confused because my hair turned darker than my original hair colour.

Kelly let me know that it was a medium brown but my hair hadn't fully dried yet and the lighting made it look darker than sunlight. When she did dry it, it was still BLACK. She tried to make excuses but I kept asking questions regarding why my hair turned darker. She let me know that I can pay an additional $100+ to bleach my hair to get it lighter but the colour could turn red instead of medium brown.

When I got home, my hair was darker in my bathroom lighting than the salon's bright lighting and it was obvious that it was black (or a super dark brown). I called the owner, who was very rude and was making excuses, and telling me that my only option was to pay $100+ extra for a bleach.

After arguing with her, she finally offered me a full refund for my hair. A full refund - that's it. She did not acknowledge anything including the fact that my hair was now dry and darker than before. And she only offered it to me after I started arguing with her. 5 stars for...

I made an appointment with Andy, and it was honestly the best hair appointment I've ever had done. I put specific details in the booking about what my hair is going through. I hated my hair, I always tied it up and I was losing hair quickly more than usual due to personal reasons.

Andy welcomed me in, and he said he saw my comments I wrote on my booking, I explained what I was experiencing and wanted a hair style to help shape my face and I wanted to love my hair again. He took the time to listen and didn't rush me or anything. I felt very understood.

The hair washing was immaculate. Holy, I did not want it to end at all. I mean we all love a good hair washing at the salons, but La Lucia & Andy did a step up and it was so relaxing. The hair scrubbing 100/10, so soothing. Would book only a wash if I wanted to!

Andy went through the steps and how he wanted to proceed with my hair, he took his time and was making everything perfect, and even told me how to style my bangs. By the end of the appointment I was smiling again. I loved my hair. I was super happy about how my hair turned out. I highly recommend La Lucia, and Andy. I will be coming back and will be a regular!

Got a haircut from Andy, my hair is a mess. I have to pay someone else to fix it. The appointment started off with Andy being quite short asking me what I want. I took his tone as a language difference and brushed it off. I began to explain what I wanted and he did not ask questions or ask for elaboration. He kept nodded his head, which made me believe he understood what I was asking for, and quickly led me to the hair wash station. The hair cut itself was about 40 minutes. For some reason, Andy decided to style my hair before he was done cutting it which made the hair curl in different directions… making it difficult to see how the cut fell. The hair was a mess in the back, the layers are uneven on both sides. The layers were not blended in and the overall cut is sloppy and lazy. There was no attention to detail or balance.
