The garden was created by the Kiwanis Club in 1920.

It has over 3,500 perenials, annuals, and bulbs. There are many roses of many different varieties. There are little signs in each bed that says what type of rose are planted there. We are always amazed at the many different colours of roses there are here.
In addition to a few paved paths, there is grass around all the flower beds that you can walk on to get up close to see the roses in their full glory!
Also in the Rose Garden is a large arbor that has climbing plants.
If you are visiting on the weekends, you can usually see a wedding party taking photos in the garden. So, in addition to just viewing the roses, it is a great location for taking photos!

Read moreToday I visited the Rose Garden in Stanley Park, and as always, it’s such a beautiful spot. I went in spring, and that’s when the garden is at its best. The flowers are in full bloom, and the fragrance is amazing. There are more than 30 varieties of roses, and you can see them in a wide range of colors – from the deepest reds to soft whites, yellows, and pinks. Plus, there are other flowers, like peonies, tulips, verbena, and cinquefoil, which make the place even more colorful.
What I love most is the peaceful atmosphere. You can sit on the benches or even on the grass and just soak up the sun. It’s a perfect spot to relax, read a book, or simply unwind. Today, being Sunday, there were people from all over the world, as usual, enjoying the place. It’s interesting to see how this garden brings together so many different cultures, creating such a calm and beautiful environment.
Every now and then, you can hear horse-drawn carriages passing by on the street near the park, adding a quaint touch to the scene. I love taking photos of these places because they somehow capture the essence of Vancouver. If you’re ever in the area, don’t miss this little slice of nature in the middle...
