This was my first time visiting Riverstone Spa, and I was really looking forward to it. I booked a 50-minute massage about two weeks in advance for a Monday. While the experience overall was relaxing, I do wish the booking process came with more information. I only found out last minute—after calling the spa—that I could arrive early and stay as long as I liked to enjoy the amenities. It would have been helpful to know that in advance to better plan my visit. Upon check-in, I was provided with a robe, sandals, and a locker. The dry sauna was lovely, and the steam shower was fantastic. Unfortunately, the steam room was out of service during my visit, which was disappointing. There’s a small lounge area offering complimentary green tea, coffee, water, and light snacks like veggies, hummus, and bread. There’s also a cozy resting space meant to be quiet and peaceful—however, some clients were chatting there, which took away from the calm atmosphere. The massage itself was excellent—very professional and relaxing. That said, the cost is quite high at $168 (with taxes) for just 50 minutes, and tips are extra. I also paid an additional $7.50 for three hours of parking, which added to the overall cost. While access to the spa facilities is included, I feel the pricing is steep, especially considering that not all amenities were available. A small discount or goodwill gesture would have been appreciated. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but one that comes with a premium price tag.

I've had issues with their facials and their massages. I have complained but nothing has ever really come from it. Now I avoid them if that's what I'm looking for. Their pedicures have been great though, so that is the only thing I come here for now. The amenities are some of the best, but if you are a couple you will be separated. In Winnipeg that's pretty normal. It's often better to do a girls day for that reason instead of a couple's thing. There's more to enjoy together. They have a great sitting area with nice variety of snacks. There is a sauna, Steam room and an over head shower. Pro tip: they have one shower in the womens room that has showers from the side too.

Had a brow shape, tint and last tint. The aesthetician waxed my brows which I didn’t want done. Anyway she was part way through and asked if I used retinol I said yes. And she was like oh we shouldn’t have waxed… I knew something was wrong. My eyes are sore and swollen. This was supposed to be my birthday gift. I had to cancel my dinner plans. This was the worst experience ever, I felt so embarrassed leaving there. Thank goodness I had a toque which I pulled down over my eye brows to hide the burns but it hurt like heck. I do not recommend. I can’t sleep cause I’m stressed about going to work. I’m attaching a photo. This is 12 hours later.

I don't enjoy writing negative reviews but my experience at Riverstone Spa was so poor I feel I have to let others know.

The front desk employees were very friendly and showed me to the changing room, set up a locker for me, and sent me on my way. The first issue was the shower.... The shower smelt very mildewy, and the "rain shower head" was covered in limescale. The longer I spent in there, the more I realized how dirty the shower was. The grout has speckles of mold, and the rain shower was squeaking and making a loud noise akin to a swarm of bees. Not really what I would call relaxing. On top of that, the water did not get very hot, even on the max setting.

"No problem." I thought, I'll just dry off and try out the steam room. I open the door to the steam room and am immediately met with the stench of....what I can only describe as feet? It just smelt like feet, point blank. I had to immediately leave, I tried to see if it would go away but it just smelt so badly of stinky feet.

I then tried another shower, which was less dirty, but the shower heads and waterflow still made such a loud buzzing noise like bees that I just felt uneasy and then dried off and waited for my massage.

I did note when booking that I had scent sensitivities, and this is where things get bad, really bad. My massage therapist was wearing a lot of perfumed products, even walking with her to the room I knew this was going to be bad but I figured maybe I could survive if my face is down in the massage bed. I was wrong. The massage was lackluster, and the areas I specified I wanted worked on were glossed over very quickly.

The facial part of the massage was a bit aggressive for what I am used to with other spas, and the scents really irritated my skin especially after the physical exfoliation. Then, the facial was finished off with a highly rose-scented lotion. I immediately got up, showered, and left.

The front desk employees asked how it was, and I said "It was alright, I guess. I have a migraine from all of the scents so I have to leave". They then said "Oh, yes, most of our products are scented". Yeah, I can smell that LOL.

I would not return. Between the lack of care and understanding for scent sensitivities and the unhygienic state of the bathroom/changing room area, I don't see what the...

My mother, visiting from NS and I went on April 12, 2023 for my birthday. My husband payed for us to have the hydrating manicure/pedicure package. Let me tell you, it was AWFUL!!!!!! Do NOT got here!!!!!!! 2 days later and the polish is already chipping. My mothers, Taiya, was amazing and treated my mom fantastic! My girl, Lena, was HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!! I left almost in tears, especially since it was my birthday. She barely said 2 words the entire time. Never warned me when putting on the paraffin, which was hot initially, especially with the surprise of it. My mom was given a nice warm towel over her eyes/ face, another girl who was brought into the room 30mins into our appt was also given one, I had nothing. Only 1 coat of polish was done on my nails, leaving it streaky and being able to see parts of my nail. Subsequently chipping 2 days later… the “massage” was a quick what I can only describe as “piano playing” with fingers up and down your half leg and arm/hand twice and was over. I then had an eyebrow wax booked, because I used vit C 5 days prior, she refused to fully wax, only 1 strip under for each eyebrow (apparently it can cause peeling)), yet I was charged the full price…. Then when we went into the reception and we were trying to look around at the products, the receptionist was rushing us. To the point she stood up, leaning over the counter, arm outstretched, holding the debit machine out, saying more than once what the torte was. When we asked for a min to look around, we got an eye roll and sigh, while continuing to stand, arm outstretched, with the debit machine. This was a terrible terrible place and experience. I would NEVER go back and suggest no one else go, considering the prices. This was a waste of a bday gift, and was not a nice relaxing spa day for myself and mother, whom I only get to see for 2 weeks out of a year. We spent over $500 here…. Please, do NOT GO HERE!!!!! Save your money and find somewhere else that actually treats you like a human being. Unless you book everything with Tiaya… she was fantastic and I can’t say enough nice things a about her. She is the only reason our experience was somewhat enjoyable. Avoid Lena...

Edit: I find the response below to be unsatisfactory and suspicious. I know what I heard, and I know that your response makes no sense. You don't deny that the fitted sheet isn't changed after each customer and instead make the argument that you have 3 sheets over the one you don't change as though that makes it okay. It doesn't make sense because why would you use 3 extra sheets to avoid washing one when you could just use the normal amount of sheets and wash them all after each person??

I also think it's a red flag that you admit that you are going to "talk" to the staff to avoid this from happening when that's not the issue here, the issue is that you don't wash everything after each person has used it. That reeks of shady management and I don't think I'll be reaching out to you directly or coming back.

Original Review:

UNSANITARY PRACTICES!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!

I was here a few days ago for a couples massage. My masseuse, Diane, was pretty good, very relaxing. When I first arrived, I had a five star impression.

However, when I was in the seating area after my massage, I could overhear Diane and the other girl talking, which was no big deal on its own, but what I heard was disgusting! Diane was asking the other masseuse if they had already changed the fitted sheet for this week. THIS WEEK!!! And to make it worse, she was told no, and she would do it at the end of the day!!! And if that wasn't bad enough, I heard one of them ask if there were any more couples in there or could she change the face cover!

This is disgusting and unhygienic! I'm disgusted that I laid down on a sheet that's only washed once a week and put my face in that germ filled face hole. They charge hundreds of dollars for a massage and they can't even keep their bedding clean?!?! I will not be back, and I encourage you all to avoid this spa like the plague! Ten Spa is...
