Stubbs Road, Lookout- The sun rises generally at this season September at about 0550-0610 hours. One can take a taxi to Stubbs Road, Lookout to watch the sunrise. Or, one can go to Adventist Hospital and walk up there. This is a good location for this purpose,1) easy access by walking 1.5 Km from The Adventist Hospital, 2) the environment is safe, 3) It has a very good view of HK island northern waterfront ,centering the views at Wanchai, with views of Causeway Bay and Happy Valley and North Point on the right hand; on the left is Central and Western District and distant view of Tsim Sha Tsui, i.e. the Kowloon Peninsular, at the very farthest views are Lion’s Rock , Fei Ngor Shan, and Tai Mo Shan. In a nut shell ,one has a full command view of the best part of HK and Kowloon. The sun came up from the mountain ridge of Siu Ma Shan. The views of the Rising sun was spectacular which was my case visiting on 20th September with a little bit of clouds and the reflections of big buildings in the quiet morning atmosphere. Because currently not many visiting tourists, it was a very relaxing chance to see HK at dawn and the Sunrise from the mountain ridge at the right. The walk from Adventist Hospital along the Stubbs Road to the Lookout point was easy, slight caution for danger arising from car traffic but as only few cars travel at this section of the road at this early morning hours, it was manageable. Read moreThe Stubbs Road Viewpoint is probably the best spot for views of Victoria Harbour east of famous The Peak viewpoints. This is a bend in the road with a pullover area where there is a large clearing with outstanding views. It is located around 1km east of Wan Chai Gap Park and just above the Bowen Road Fitness Trail.
Here you find a sizeable platform area with a few circular benches with cover, these are useful when its hot and sunny or rainy outside. You'll find a sign which shows the buildings that make up the Hong Kong and Kowloon Skylines that you can see from this location. If you look to the right you can also see the Happy Valley...
Read moreI believe this place can absolutely become a substitution for the viewpoint up on the peak.
The viewpoint of the peak will get crowded on the weekends. People driving cars, taking the buses to the peak, just for a fascinating view on both hong kong island and kowloon peninsula.
And this viewpoint, we can also capture the attractive view of Hong Kong. The altitude of the viewpoint is lower than the peak, but it still on the mountain.
I think the biggest weakness of this viewpoint is you better have a car, as the viewpoint is not near to any bus stop. In addition.the biggest advantage is stay away of the crowd and...
