I recently had the chance to dine at Wanaka, a charming little restaurant tucked away within the revitalized heritage building of the "Blue House" in Wan Chai. What drew me to this place was its commitment to using locally-sourced and organic ingredients.
As soon as I stepped inside, I was struck by the restaurant's simple yet elegant decor - the space was minimal and pure white, creating a really serene and calming atmosphere. But what I loved most was the option to dine outside on the small grassy area adjacent to the restaurant. It was such a pleasant surprise to be able to eat al fresco in the middle of bustling Wan Chai.
Now, onto the food. While the vegetarian selection wasn't the most extensive, the dishes I did try were quite tasty. We had a fresh and vibrant salad, featuring a nice mix of greens, avocado, dragonfruit and other colorful ingredients. We also opted for their vegetarian sushi platter, which was generously portioned and beautifully presented. The rice was well-seasoned and the vegetable fillings were flavorful and satisfying.
Although the indoor seating was a bit limited, which could be tricky for larger groups, the quality of the food really shone through. You may not find an overwhelming array of meatless options, but what they do offer is prepared with care and attention to detail. And of course, the lovely outdoor area was a huge plus, allowing me to enjoy my meal in a tranquil, verdant setting.
Overall, Wanaka provided a delightfully relaxing dining experience, with a focus on fresh, wholesome ingredients that really let the natural flavors shine. While it may not be the most expansive vegetarian restaurant, the thoughtfulness and execution of the dishes I sampled made it a very...

The food are all from local farmers from HK 🇭🇰 which are super supportive to agriculture development👍🏻 The restaurant is a bit packed, even the waiter have to server in a caution when they were delivering drinks, however these does not creat a barriers to their passion to serve!

Read moreIt is opened by the famous vegetarian restaurant, Years. Same as it, Wanaka also serves vegetarian dishes with organic local veggies. If you are taking outdoor seats, you will get a 10% off. Ordered 2 main and 1 drink, among them, the pasta is the best. The pasta is well-spiced with Sichuan chilli, spicy but tolerable. There are dried tofu, mushrooms and kale which are match with the mala. I like it very much! The curry bowl is also good. The coconut milk lightens the spiciness and the soft lentil soaks up the curry sauce. The firm tofu underneath the curry is very nice. The peta bag matches well with the curry a lot, but not as surprising as the pasta. I don’t recommend the smoothie as it is very watery and the banana...
