Brulee Love For Hair — Attraction in Bogota, Capital District

Although the stylish that did my hair was nice and patient and I was happy with the final result (although it wasn’t as good as I was expecting), I’m very disappointed with this hair salon.

I waited 10 months to be able to flight to Bogota to do my first balayage with them after all the amazing results I was always seeing in IG and I found a place that is very focused on social media videos but that doesn’t provide a high quality service.

First of all, they charge you way more than what they say on the first place. I don’t mind paying for treatments or adding ups but they never let you know that things cost extra so you don’t really get a say in this. For example, they curlied my hair instead of straighten it and charged me for that. They charge for the shampoo, etc… I find it outrageous and dishonest.

Secondly, some of the staff is friendly and some others are quite rude. In general, everybody seems to be annoyed of being there. Nobody smiles…

Third, I found the staff very unprofessional. You can hear them talking in a very informal way, swearing, gossiping, talking about private stuff from work… I found it very unprofessional.

Fourth, when I had to pay and found out that the price was almost double than what I expected I asked them to break down the final price. That’s when I found out that they charge you for everything without letting you know. I told them I wasn’t informed of those extras and one of the receptionists told me that the owner, Kelvy, was going to talk to me. She left 10 minutes after that, after seeing that I was just in front of her, waiting, and never said anything to me.

Fifth, you don’t get a personalised attention. They let you waiting for a long time between every step because they take care of a few people at the same time.

Sixth, me appointment was at 9.30 and I was told it was going to take 3h. I ended up staying until 17.30… it’s insane. Because of that, I lost another appointment I wanted to do in Bogotá and couldn’t reschedule it because I was only staying one day in the city.

Seventh, this morning I’m noticing that the ends of my fringe are very damage. I really hope is not going to be like that in all my hair. They comb your hair very roughly…

I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s very expensive for what it is. The lack of professionalism is disappointing and wayyyy too expensive. I would never recommend going there. I wish I had listen to the negative comments I found here the night before my appointment…

Esta vez me atendió Brayan Mosquera (maravilloso, síganlo), evaluó el cabello, me explicó con total detalle y vio mis referencias. MUY IMPORTANTE: me explicaron que la estructura del cabello si o sí cambia con los procesos de tinte y decoloración, y me explicaron cómo fortalecerlo y devolverle la vida a los rizos. Nota: Cuando se hace decoloración hay que hidratarlos mucho y hacer definición del patrón rizo a rizo por un mes para devolverle la memoria.

Me sentí muy cuidada y guiada, esta vez sí sentí que la persona que me atendía estaba muy atento a lo que quería, a lo que no me gustaba, me explicó todo lo que iba a hacer y cómo podía quedar. Me redujo el ancho de las iluminaciones, hizo algo mas difuminado con tonos más cercanos y realmente el resultado me encantó.

Me volvió a atender Anyi Zambrano que es un amor, y también me recomendaron y usaron varioa productos especializados en reparar.

Nathaly, una mujer hermosa (y crespa) me hizo la definición rizo a rizo con una técnica para revitalizar el patrón de rizo, me explicó cómo definir, cómo aplicar los productos (en qué orden, cantidades, mezcla) y me dejó el cabello hermoso, definido, sin volumen. También me maquilló muy lindo, sutil, cuidadoso, me preguntó con qué me sentía cómoda.

Esta experiencia realmente es la que uno desea tener al venir. El resultado es maravilloso (nuevas fotos).

ANTERIOR Muy triste con la experiencia. El patrón de mis rizos del cabello decolorado ya no está ☹️ no se enrosca, se siente seco, y al lavar el cabello el color se lavó con el primer shampoo. Ahora se ve más naranja 🫠 Dejo este review para que POR FAVOR se eviten la misma experiencia y EXIJAN que les hagan todo bien: pidan que les muestren el resultado al final antes de irse, que SIEMPRE les hagan prueba del mechón para ver cómo se comporta su cabello, y si las van a maquillar que les pregunten cómo y ustedes puedan decir con qué se sienten cómodes, que lo hagan sobre su cara limpia, que cuando vayan a pagar pidan que les dejen pagar en la recepción y les muestren los items que se llevan…

Agendé con Mauricio Ariza. NUNCA ME HIZO PRUEBA DEL MECHÓN, me hizo una unificación de tono y de una pasó a iluminaciones SIN PROBAR QUÉ TAL REACCIONABA MI PELO. Tenía cita de 3pm y terminamos a las 10:30 PM, mamados por supuesto, sin comer. Después de todo el proceso Mauricio me hace una definición espectacular de rizo a rizo con calor (no era posible notar que el patrón de rizo del cabello decolorado había sido dañado).

En el afán de grabar el resultado (que se veía increíble por lo definido, y uno entiende que ellos quieren documentar) me maquilló sobre la cara sucia, sin echarme primer, sin quitarme el maquillaje que ya tenía, o siquiera consultarme con qué me sentía cómoda. Me echó pestañina encima de la pestañina que ya tenía (dejándome unos pegotes tenaces que casi no me quita la espuma limpiadora Shizeido con multiples lavadas). Me hizo un montón de volumen y me echó laca ensuciándome el pelo SIN CONSULTARME. Me quitó un montón de definición en la raiz para hacerme crecer el pelo para el video SIN CONSULTARME, y bueno, grabamos y me fui. Yo nunca dije que quería volumen (hacerse volumen en la raiz no me sirve para que dure el peinado con rizos), tampoco le dije “haz lo que tu quieras”: yo fui con ideas definidas para revisar y preguntas sobre lo que era posible. Mauricio fue tan amable como para darme el color del tinte de base para seguirlo utilizando hasta que volviera a retoque en unos meses. Eso si, siempre él y todo el equipo fueron muy amables.

Nunca me mostraron el resultado de atrás, sino que Mauricio al salir me compartió el video y ahí mismo se ve que los puntos de iluminación son super disparejos (algo que yo no quería). Me comuniqué con servicio al cliente y me asignaron cita para ir de nuevo. Haré una actualización de...

I'm writing this review in English because I know many people from abroad are curious about Brûlée, and I want to help you decide if it’s worth it.

Today was my first appointment for a balayage, and I’m sharing my honest experience. The entire process took 8 hours (yes, 8!), that included strand testing, decolorizing, toning, a hydration treatment, cutting, styling, and even a bit of makeup that was offered for free. To be fair, I do have a LOT of hair, every hairdresser I’ve ever seen has said the same.

That being said, the service here is truly out of this world. I felt like a princess. My hairdresser, Victor Mauricio, was an active listener and gave me the best advice based on my features. I trusted him completely, and I’m so glad I did.

The ambiance of the salon is fantastic, relaxing and welcoming. A massage is included, and everyone who worked with me was incredibly kind and professional.

Yes, it is expensive. But it’s also clear that they’re true professionals, they don’t do anything halfway. Word of advice? Just be patient, bring a good book and enjoy the free coffee.
