We were a little skeptical at first, but our daughters who were 9 and 11 were fascinated with the history and how the bottle of olive oil actually got to us on the shelves of our supermarket. The best part was the tasting at the end. Another couple from Scandinavia were incredibly shocked that although they liked the flavour of "off the shelf regular store bought" olive oil, we all realized that the flavour of quality olive oil is unique. We also learned that Istria has become one of the world leaders in organic and quality olive oils and bought 3 different types. When we got back home to Canada, we realized how different clean healthy olive oil can be from big company manufactured olive oil. As a family who loves food and cooking, we have learned one more lesson about clean and healthy food. Our daughters have started to talk to their friends about olive oil. The money was well worth the tour - for sure a memorable experience for us, and of course,...

3.5 out of 5 - Great tasting experience! We came here for the museum and tried the Green experience. The staff was very knowledgeable and super friendly in multiple languages, thank you! 🙏🏼 We were a bit disappointed about the museum part as it was quite small and the audio guide mostly stated what you can already read on the walls. We were missing some interactive elements, for example to move the olive grinder, turn the pressing mat and to learn even more about local high quality olive produce (oils and olives). The tasting was fun, we learned a lot about identifying if the olive oil we’d buy in a store is authentic, and how to buy the right olive oil for the right purpose. Highly recommend the tasting and tour, but recommend that you manage your expectations when it comes...

The museum is best way to experience Istrian olive oil, and teaches you not just about the history but in the green and gold experience also how you can recognize good quality olive oil. The employees were fantastic and very knowledgeable. I recommend the gold experience as you can taste in total 8 olive oils. Because we eat vegan and the dessert is not vegan, we got a discount.

You do not have to book the experience before. When you get there, you first pay and then walk through the exhibition on your own. After you are done, you get a presentation and guided tasting.

One thing I would improve is to add a section on the effects of the climate crisis on olive oil production. It impacts it a lot now and in the future and when asked, employees could tell a...

-- Disappointing experience – not recommended Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the Olive Museum in Pula. Initially, I left a 1-star review after I was disappointed to have paid €7.50 for truffle chocolate, which, despite being sealed, contained a food moth. This is unacceptable for a product that should be fresh. I was then contacted by the owner in a very inappropriate manner and even threatened, leading me to delete my review. Now, after some time has passed and the owner hasn't reached out to me again, I feel compelled to warn other visitors. Everyone has the right to share their honest opinion, especially when it comes to hygiene and customer service. It’s shocking how rude and aggressive the response to constructive feedback was. Such behavior is unacceptable and doesn’t reflect a customer-friendly business. Visitors should be informed when products do not meet basic quality standards. While the museum itself might be interesting, these negative experiences severely tarnish the overall impression.
