Osteria Food & Wine — Restaurant in Grad Pula

I feel that this place takes advantage of tourists, which I had confirmed by our tour guide when I asked him later. A glass of wine on the menu was listed as €4-€7, the only other option on the menu is a bottle. Glasses are listed at 0.1l in fairness and our glasses looked suspiciously large when they arrived, we naively thought they were being generous only to find that every time we ordered “a glass”, they were charging us double for a double measure glass (that we did not ask for, I actually would much have preferred smaller glasses so that I could taste the wines as I have not tried those wines before, which was clear from the questions I was asking). Basically our bill was pretty much double what we expected, which we never would have ordered had we known what we were being charged. We would assume we were just being naive to Croatian culture, but even local Croatians told us that this was not the case and that this was likely a scam and not what we should have been charged. They held strong after we complained and the only “apology” was a glass of terraino each (€2 a glass). Would definitely not come back, which is a shame as we did...

Came here with my Croatian partner after the line at Jupiter pizza was too long. I’ve been to Jupiter pizza many times and found this pizza just as good if not better! The service was really fast (we were in a rush) and the servers were really kind and accommodating. The one server with glasses was very sweet and knowledgeable about olive oil. He informed us the olive oil that was on the tables was produced by the owner. So delicious and a must try! Definitely recommend this place and would like to return...

The way the waiter treated us was terrible – I’ve never experienced anything like it. Our food arrived far too late, and when we asked to pay separately, he said it had already been entered into the system. I’m a waitress myself, and when I pointed out that he should have informed us about this at the beginning, he simply said it wasn’t his problem.
