I found this ice cream shop in the lists of gluten-free venues in Pula. I thought it has a lot of gluten-free tastes. I was also aware of the higher price from previous reviews (3.50 euro per scoop) but I wanted to try some unusual tastes so I went for it. Unfortunately it went out they only have few options in place for both dairy free and gluten free (I cannot consume dairy) and, of those, I could only try one because the ice cream saloon is mixed (it has gluten cones so the spatula comes in contact with the gluten cones and there is a risk of cross-contamination. The girl working in the shop was very knowledgeable about celiac and she told me she would open a new ice cream package so I could try the ice cream, she used gloves, new spatula. Sadly there was only one gluten free dairy free taste I could try (the berry one), nothing fancy like strawberry with basil, etc. I also had gluten free cone.
The ice cream was tasty - no matter the berry taste it had real fruits and it was not like traditional sorbet - more creamy texture and very delicious. The price though is a killer - I paid 5€ for one scoop and GF cone (you have to pay for it). And by scoop I mean scoop - I know it’s written it’s 100 grams but they don’t measure it - it is just a scoop over a cone, it wasn’t put on scale or smth, and believe me I am a huge ice cream lover (I just got dairy allergy recently so tons of ice cream I ate in my life - I know what 100 grams looks like. So that’s the only negative comment I would have - and, maybe that there is nowhere information that the gluten free cone is paid on the top - it came a bit by surprise. But as I said - I would probably still try it - everyone with celiac knows what it means…yet I would appreciate a more honest approach towards sales. Not everything is...
Read moreThis probably is the best ice cream in the city and wider according to its rich creamy milky taste. However, 3,5€ for a scoop is a robbery. I knew that it's expensive, but that price simply doesn't approve any ice creams of the world. Also, the temperature isn't set properly, so the ice cream is too soft, at the edge of melting. I had to pay much attention not to lose upper scoop at the street, and had to eat it too fast without enjoying because of badly set temperature. Pitty. If they would lower the price for 0,5-1€ and temperature for 3-4°C, it would be perfect....
Read moreWe had ice cream several times during our visit to Pula. It is really delicious. Amazingly balanced flavors of creamy ice creams. We tried mascarpone/dates/pistachios, yogurt with honey and sesame, chocolate with coffee was delicious. The best sorbet was orange with ginger. However, the ice cream is quite expensive. Two scoops of ice cream and a homemade cone cost 8 euros and you still have to leave a tip. This spoils the impression. But you can taste the ice cream on a small spoon before you...
