Not too far from Split that you can't easily walk to it: has some sandy beach but you'll have to get there pretty early for a towel-sized plot. The concrete is not as uncomfortable as it first seems for sunbathing, so not a huge issue if you don't manage to bag a spot for your stuff on the sand. There are some rocky patches in the water near the concrete, but a big patch of sand underfoot in the water if you look for it towards the more beachy part.
