Proto Food&More — Restaurant in Grad Zadar

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the restaurant Proto Food&more, and I am thrilled with my experience. The restaurant not only offers excellent food at fair prices but also provides exceptional service.

The food was simply fantastic. The quality of the dishes was exceptional, and the prices were fair and reasonable. I was particularly impressed with the perfectly cooked steak, prepared to my desired medium doneness. It was juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor. Every bite was a delight for my taste buds.

The service was also top-notch. The waitstaff was incredibly attentive and friendly. One of the waiters took the time to explain each dish on the menu in detail and provided recommendations. It was a pleasure to experience such attentive service that made us feel truly valued.

Despite the restaurant having few guests on the evening I visited, it was not an issue at all. On the contrary, it created an intimate and relaxed atmosphere. We were able to fully focus on our meal and had plenty of space and tranquility to enjoy our dining experience.

Another highlight was the highly entertaining presentation of complimentary digestives after the meal. The waiter put on an impressive show, presenting us with various types of digestives in a truly enjoyable manner. It was a wonderful conclusion to our evening, leaving us laughing and amazed.

Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend Proto Food&more. The food is of high quality, and the prices are fair. The service is excellent, with attentive and friendly staff. I had just arrived in Zadar and was very hungry. The service was extremely good, the two gentlemen that served me were very very kind and helpful, I would give them a thousand stars.

The food, however, was not very surprising. I was brought a typical croatian breakfast on the house, which was a slice of sweet bread and boiled egg. This was for free so I appreciate it. I then had the typical fish soup as a starter and it was a bit disappointing: it is a very simple dish, which is not something bad at all, but it was mostly rice and felt it was lacking some flavour. For main course I had a shrimp and salmon gnocchi - this was absolutely delicious and I do recommend! Together withy the food I ordered some bread (2€) and also a glass of wine (6€). The glass of wine was not very well served, it did not seem enough wine.

The atmosphere was very good, pleasant place to have food. Only thing to point out is, if you have food outside you will get polen from the trees in your food for sure. I recommend sitting inside.

We were a group of 7 who stopped by this lovely place. Unfortunately they didn't have a table for us in the beginning and told us it would be an hour. So we decided to wait. Obviously we were getting really tired after 30 mins or so but the staff wereso nice!! They kept coming over to us, making jokes, giving us updates on the table we were going to get. We were scared the kitchen would close but they kept reassuring us that they would not close without serving he's because we had waited. Since the table we were supposed to get didn't want to leave and the restaurant was emptying out, they made us a table. The food WAS SO DAMN DELICIOUS!! The staff was so sweet as well! They served us, joked with us, helped us pick the best dishes. The cocktails were really good too!! At the end of the night they gave us a little shot of Croatian brandy of some sort which was AAHH AMAZING. I HUGE thank you to Martin, Enzo and Antonio for serving us and sharing some laughs.
