Only plus point for this hotel is its proximity to the bus station & local restaurants/bars - to facilitate escape!!||Booked on a self catering basis, but the facilitates where so antiquated, neglected & more importantly unsafe that we didn't feel we could safely cook & therefore spent the majority of our stay eating out, which added extra expense to our budget.||First job upon arrival was to fix the broken cupboard shelves in the kitchen & to decide which room we wanted to cool as the air con card only allows you to operate one unit at a time, which in the heat of Cyrus isn't really helpful.||The whole apartment had clearly not had a clean, let alone a deep clean prior to our arrival and not professionally in some time. The fixtures & fittings gave cause for concern from an electrical safety aspect, light fittings hanging loose, cooker (if it can be deemed as such) had an electrical lead with exposed wiring & the bathroom shaving socket was not correctly fixed & sealed on the tiled background - see photos.||Cleaning throughout our stay was sporadic & of a very poor standard overall. The shower head was a definite health hazard - see photo. This was never cleaned throughout our vacation. Towels were issued adhoc, requests for extra were granted but the quality left a lot to be desired & included stained towels & some with large holes in them. We actually discarded some ourselves in the communal hotel bins to prevent them being re issued to other guests.||The laundry room is completely inadequate for the number of apartments (1 washer & 1 drier) & is lacking in cleanliness. Attempted to do a wash load but the machine only took partial payment & did not work with our clothing already inside. We surmised that the coin box must be full & went to reception to inform them. i started to explain to the lady at the desk, whereby i was rudely interrupted by another woman, whom i presume to be a manager. She came storming out of the office, arms waving & accusing myself of putting incorrect coins into the slot and breaking the machine - this despite me putting only one CORRECT 1 euro coin into the slot. She shouted loudly at me after coming from behind the desk in full earshot of other guests which is totally unprofessional at best. She again reiterated it was entirely my fault.||The following day, the original staff member approached me to explain that the coin box had been full, had been emptied & offered the coin refund by way of a sort of an apology. The second woman never offered an apology for the rant throughout our stay.||The hotel was advertised on jet 2s own website with a indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi & gym. All these facilities were clearly not available, open & being used whilst we were staying & looking back at other reviews from at least a year ago had not been open for a prolonged period of time. The swimming pool especially offered another potential health hazard with what can only be described as scum floating on the top. Access via an unlocked door was still possible - see photos. NB; the reference to the indoor pool has recently been removed from Jet2 website, but only following our complaint directly to them & very much not as a result of other customer reviews on here going back for at least 12 months. ||Re the outdoor pool, whilst the pool itself seemed clean, the uneven paving towards the large conifer was 100% an accident waiting to happen & the fault had not just arisen nor had it clearly been adequately inspected pre, during our post season. This was a definite trip hazard which should prior to any repair have been isolated by barriers. During our stay, we saw a number of people trip, stub their toes or simply stumble in this area. Similarly a good number of sun loungers were noted to collapse under movement or adjustment and had broken or missing the clips. Again a potentially serious accident waiting to happen - in fact most days in this area you could witness holidaymakers searching through the pile of loungers for a safely functioning one. Again you have to question who does the safety inspection here - see photos.||I could carry on listing issues but please take time to read the other reviews & more importantly the replies directly from the hotel towards any negatives comments from people who are after all paying customers. Are all these independent individuals wholly to blame, not telling the truth & inventing these issues? The hotel of course have the right to reply but please see our photographs as proof in our case. ||This hotel is rated 3 star which isnt the standard currently being offered but more than anything else, regardless of the star rating what cannot be compromised is the health & safety of guests. On finishing I can confirm we have challenged directly with jet2 what inspection regime is in place, for which an adequate answer has not been forthcoming, but some token compensation has been offered. In short, this place could do so much more - until it does......book elsewhere or take...
Read moreStayed here with my son Aug 2025 for 10 nights and from arrival the place and staff were awful. We arrived approx 23.00 on our first night on a package holiday, at reception the guy who greeted us (or should I say didn't greet us) was rude and barley said a word to us, just demanded I fill in a form. He then pointed for us to follow him and after a lengthy walk I said ro him that I'd requested a room close to amenities due to a knee injury. He just shrugged his shoulders. We carried on walking to the apartment farthest away from reception and up 2 flights of stairs. I asked if he could help with my bag up the stairs and he pointed at my autistic and ADHD son saying "get the boy to do it" and left us. ||||We brushed it off as it was late at night and thought we would start a fresh in the morning. How wrong was I that it would get better. We had booked on a bed and breakfast basis so on the first morning went to the bar for breakfast to be met by a woman who refused us breakfast until I had proven I had booked it on my booking conformation. She told us to sit and said "you have full English or continental, no changes no requests no questions this is your choice". She came back a few minutes later and had a go at my son for having his phone "no phone at my table, table is for eating not for your phone, put it away off my table". I was in complete shock at how she spoke to him, that due to his additional needs then made it impossible for him to eat and we ended up having to have breakfast elsewhere the rest of our stay.||||Eating out seemed to be our only option as the electric oven in our room was held together with electrical tape and I dare not to turn it on. The other kitchen facilities were sufficient apart from a seeming lack of hot water from the kitchen taps. ||||Day 3 and whilst in the shower the towel rail fell down onto my back, it had completely fallen out of the wall, I reported it to reception and it was fixed during the day, with the wrong screws, one false move and it was going to fall out again.||||I went to make another request for it to be fixed properly but witness another family making a complaint about there room and the management were trying to evicted there family from the hotel. I decided to avoid this and go straight to my travel provider.||Day 3 we went to the beach and when we got back I want to wash our towels in the on site machines. It turns out this is where they also store used old toilets from rooms. Unfortunately the machine was faulty and our items were stuck inside. We went to reception and reported it and asked for help. The woman responded with "what do you want me ro do about it, it's Saturday, we will call someone out by Wednesday to get your things". No assistance, infact she didn't even get out her chair. We managed ro retrieve our items with help of another guest and wrote a sign. ||||Day 4 and I was woken in the night by dripping from the aircon unit onto my face in bed. Water was also running down the wall from the unit into a power socket. I moved my sheets etc onto the sofa bed in the living room and covered the socket with a towel to prevent further damage. It was 3am, I was going to report it in the morning. But that's when things took another turn. The sofa bed collapsed on me and I hit the floor and smacked my elbow on the way down. ||||By this point I was at the end of my teather. I called our holiday provider directly, I was in tears at how our holiday was panning out. I'm a single parent and it was hard work saving up to take my son away. I reported all these this plus the state of the grounds the black mould, water leaks, inaccessible play area, and all the faults and left it I there hands to contact the hotel.||||My provider then recieved an email that basically said that my complaints were inaccurate and that if I carried on complaining then they would escalate there response. I wasn't in the position to move or leave so I kept quite the rest of my stay. There are many other things that I witnessed throughout our stay but I think the above and the pictures will say it all. DO NOT STAY HERE||||I've left it in the hands of my agent and I have had a portion of my holiday refunded after they sent a rep out to investigate and see that my...
Read moreWe have been travelling through europe for the past 3 months staying in a range of 2-5 star hotels so I always have an open mind and give honest reviews!
The rooms are very dated and worn with dark heavy furniture (see pics) The soft furnishings really need updating and deep cleaning. The sofa is very uncomfortable. €10 a week for safe. The appliances are a stained yellow colour and need replacing. The hairdryer is old and unfit for use and needs replacing. You are not provided with any washing up liquid or cleaning clothes which I found disappointing for self catering. The beds are comfy and the kitchenette and bathroom although dated are very clean and have everything you need to make a snack. Air conditioning unit works well which was needed during high temps in June. Can’t speak highly enough of the cleaning staff who did a great job everyday. Towels and bedding changed on a regular basis. Great wifi throughout the hotel.
The poolside area was not clean. Plastic cups and ashtrays left all around on a daily basis, it seemed that fellow guests don’t know what a bin is. I never saw the pool being cleaned and it was over run with a huge collection of oversized inflatables. There is also a lot of cats at the hotel who like to use the surrounding gardens as their toilet so there is a certain “odour” as your sunbathing. There are big signs around the pool stating that you can’t drink anything unless it’s purchased at the bar (even water)! These rules were ignored by the visiting cypriot guests who had there own cool boxes and bottles of Bombay sapphire by the pool. You’ll also find that some of your fellow “Brits abroad” and there kids like to play there own music, shout, scream and swear across the pool to each other. There’s nothing the hotel can do about it but just bear it in mind if your looking for a bit of peace and quiet then it might be difficult or an idea to use ear plugs or noise cancelling headphones to drown them out. Plenty of sun beds and umbrellas.
Bar & Restaurant €7.50 for a breakfast, everywhere else in Paphos charges €4.50-6.00 Pint of beer is €3.30 (else where it’s €2.20) Bottle of sparkling water €2.90 (normally €1.90) Friendly staff.
The gardens could do with a makeover and someone to do a bit of litter picking each day.
There’s a Lidl 15 min walk away (turn right at main road out of hotel and walk for 1km) or catch the bus at McDonalds for €1.50 and it stops right outside Lidl. Jumbo superstore 10 min walk (like a massive Home Bargains) and supermarket at the Kings shopping Mall (turn left at main road out of hotel and walk 0.8km)
Overall this is a maximum 2* budget hotel that reminds me of places I stayed in Greece in the 80’s. We got the impression that they are currently relying on repeat Jet2 and Tui customers that have been going for donkeys years and don’t know what they can get for there money at neighbouring hotels! The staff are super friendly but the hotel manager (Nico I think he’s called) never cracked a smile the whole 4 weeks we were there, we always try to speak a bit of Cypriot and he looked at us like aliens when we said “kalimera” maybe it’s because we weren’t a repeat customer and didn’t spend money in his bar. He really needs to look at his competitors and see what their providing, we stayed in 2 neighbouring hotels for an extra €10 a night and the difference was vast. If you are on a budget and want a quiet comfy bed close to the main strip of restaurants then this is the...
