Nice, ski area for families. Many blue and red slopes. Red is not really very difficult. I'm not realy a hero on skies and I don't really like the red slope in for example Avoriaz, but these red slopes are not comparable to red in France or Austria. These in Špindlerův Mlýn are nice and wide and you can better call them dark blue :) Don't expect that you are on your skis or snowboard for a whole day going from one mountain to the other, which you can in Austria or France, but you can be busy here all day on the skis. The ski bus takes you to all slopes in this area for free. The village has many hotels, pensions and restaurants where it is still reasonably cheap to eat. There are many, especially sports / ski clothing stores which are outrageously expensive in contrast to eating out or the groceries you can get there. The medical care here is now modern and up-to-date. The medic point in the village is very professional, friendly (we unfortunately experienced it personally), modern and up-to-date . I think the ski area can be on bucket lists for family's with young kids. ------------------- Mooi overzichtelijk skigebied voor gezinnen. Veel blauwe en rode pistes. Rood is niet echt heel erg moeilijk. Ik ben zelf geen held op de skies en vind de rode piste in bijvoorbeeld Avoriaz niet zo heel erg leuk, maar deze rode pistes zijn niet te vergelijken met rood in Frankrijk of Oostenrijk. Deze hier zijn fijn breed en eigenlijk kun je ze beter donker blauw noemen :) Verwacht niet dat je een hele dag met de ski's of snowboard onderweg bent van de ene berg naar de andere berg zoals bv in Oostenrijk of Frankrijk wel kan, maar je kunt hier wel de hele dag lekker bezig zijn. De skibus brengt je gratis naar alle pistes in dit gebied. Het dorp heeft veel hotels, pensionnen en restaurantjes waar je nog goedkoop kunt eten. Er zijn veel, vooral sport /skikleding winkels die dan weer schreeuwend duur zijn in tegenstelling tot het uit eten gaan of de boodschappen die je er kunt doen. Het medic point in het dorp is heel erg professioneel, vriendelijk (hebben we helaas aan den lijve ondervonden), modern en up-to-date. Ik vind dit skigebied een aanrader, zeker voor gezinnen met jonge kinderen.

Great resort for skiing and sledging. It is not cheap, ski passes are comparable to other countries. Accommodation is plentiful and varied to for every budget. The pistes are kept in good order and lots of people on hand to help if needed. Negatives. Most places that serve food and drink are expensive, not withstanding the location, it should be cheaper. The place is very Czech which is not a negative but the lack of options for vegetarians is shocking. Chips and fried cheese at best at the small cafes next to the piste. Very friendly helpful locals, they have to tolerate a lot of the things that come with tourists but still so helpful. This week has seen a a few days of technical snow being used but the snow came yesterday which has made skiing fun. I would recommend a visit and I am sure you'll enjoy it.

Some of the slopes have artificial snowmaking technology and sometimes night skiing is available on Hromovka. The Špindlerův Mlýn Ski Resort is the recipient of a number of prestigious awards relative to the quality of the services provided, and according to the information provided, it has won the WSA survey for the best ski resort in the Czech Republic for several years in a row. Ski pass prices in Špindlerův Mlýn are close to the most expensive alpine resorts. A weekend for three adults here costs up to €1,000

This is a great place for skiing. There are ski routes for all skill levels. Compared to nearby Polish ski resorts there are far less people, almost no queues (at least during Polish winter holidays and off the Czech holidays). Ski routes are well prepared. Some ski lifts - esp. on Medvedin might had windshields, as it can be pretty windy, esp. On the first lift going from the parking lot. The only real drawback was very limited parking space, at 11am parkings were full (on weekend even earlier), and there was no alternatives other than waiting for someone to leave.

Osobiście uważam, że jest to bardzo dobry ośrodek narciarski z bardzo fajnym zapleczem. Polecam, tak jak każdy wyjazd na narty jeśli ktoś może wyjechać w środku tygodnia na weekend wiadomo jest znacznie więcej ludzi. Warto wejść na stronę ośrodka dużo wcześniej przed wyjazdem i zobaczyć zakładkę flexi ceny - można wtedy kupić bilet dużo taniej niż standardowe ceny. Ośrodek posiada dużo tras o rożnym stopniu trudności od niebieskich do czarnych. Trasy są różnej długości. Najdłuższe ok 2,5-2,7 km. Oczywiście największą popularnością cieszą się trasy niebieskie - najłatwiejsze najdłuższa: turistcka sjezdovka o długości 2,7 km. Na tej trasie warto jeździć do południa, później lepiej przenieść się na Medvedin ski busem, jest o wiele mniej osób a również jest wybór tras. Trasy troszkę bardziej wymagające ale szerokie i zmniejszą ilością osób. Duże plusy za darmowe parkingi (trzeba w miarę szybko przyjechać aby załapać się na parkingi w dogodnych lokalizacjach) oraz toalety nie to co w Zakopanym. Minusy w sumie drobnostki to: dość takie nieoczywiste oznaczeni tras można łatwo się pomylić kiedy trasa z niebieskiej robi się np. czarna od połowy wzniesienie oraz trochę muld na trasie oraz mogliby zainwestować w gondole na niektórych wyciągach. Jednak tak jak zaznaczyłem uważam, że to drobnostki. Osobiście uważam , że warto poświęcić trochę więcej pieniędzy na nocleg (ja znalazłem za ok 80 zł za noc ze śniadaniem w miejscowości oddalonej o ok 30 km w samej miejscowości ze stokiem ceny ok 150-200 zł) i pojechać tam na dwa dni niż na jeden dzień do Karpacza, Szklarskiej czy Świeradowa. Nie ma problemu z porozumieniem się wszyscy rozumieją po polsku. Maksymalnie w kolejce czekałem po 20 minut.

Supposed to be the best skiing resort in the Czech Republic. It's the end of December , only a few slopes and lifts are open , so skiing is limited due to lack of snow but it's still better than the other places around the area. It's quite expensive , as a day ski pass for a adult is approx £35-40 which imo is quite expensive As in France ( Val Disere ) it's about £50-£55 but for that you get 5-7 times more slopes and lifts at this time of year. There are plenty of places to eat in the resort, which is a plus.
