First of all, I really appreciate this place and go there often - since it’s probably the only vegan cafe in Copenhagen. However, over time, I see some aspects that might be improved.
After time it gets boring. There is basically no change in the menu. If there is a new thing introduced, it stays for few weeks or months. It’s too sweet. The cheesecakes are super sweet, as well as other pastries. Additionally, I don’t really like the texture of the puff pastries - they are too heavy and don’t resemble the original croissants/pains ou chocolat. It’s a bit too expensive. Cheesecakes are quite expensive, as well as brunch plates and matcha. I know it’s good quality, but I would never pay 75dkk for a cup of matcha. The coffee isn’t too good, it’s sour and tastes like burnt. The inside area is very small, crowded, and hot. I wish it was more spacious. The place seems understaffed (the baristas), it’s usually only one person collecting the orders, making coffees etc. Therefore, there is a long waiting time. Compared to other vegan cafes in Europe I’ve been to, this one is just ok. I know some (even smaller) cafes that manage to bake more varied and tastier pastries, as well as excellent savoury things, like sandwiches or lunches.
Overall, I’m really happy that Cafe Kaf exists since this is the only vegan cafe, but I’m kinda bored and see so many things that could...
Read moreKaf is hands down my new favorite vegan restaurant! Not only is the food amazing, but the desserts and beverages are out of this world. On my recent visit, I tried several desserts and the matcha latte.
The pecan cake was my favorite of the desserts. It was so moist and rich, with a perfect balance of nuttiness and sweetness. The frosting was smooth and velvety, and the cake was topped with a generous amount of caramelized pecans.
The New York cheesecake was also fantastic - it was creamy, tangy, and had a perfect crust. The triple chocolate cake was a chocolate lover's dream come true, with layers of rich chocolate cake, silky chocolate mousse, and a decadent chocolate ganache.
To accompany my desserts, I ordered the matcha latte. It was perfectly brewed and had a great balance of matcha and milk. The latte was smooth and not too sweet, which paired perfectly with the rich and decadent desserts.
Overall, Kaf's desserts and beverages were some of the best I've had in a long time. They were beautifully presented, indulgent, and completely vegan. If you're a dessert lover or a fan of matcha, Kaf is...
Read moreKaf had been my first and favourite place to have a delicious brunch and bakery over more than 6 years but unfortunately they changed completely the menu and not for the good.
The brunch that used to be amazing full of fruits, vegan chorizo, avocado well presented and much more, now it’s just half of an avocado a peace of bread and a tasteless yogurt for the same price than before.
Yesterday I went for a sandwich and what I got was bread soaked in butter and soggy spinach and cheese plus some dry bakery.
I don’t understand why is so difficult to keep the same quality as before.
Even the place on it self looks bad and they decided to put so many round tables that literally you couldn’t pass through without pushing other people.
So so disappointed and I don’t think I would ever come back and I would recommend this place...
