Ahl Misr Walkway is a wonderful, peaceful spot along the Nile in Cairo, offering both locals and visitors a chance to relax and enjoy stunning views of the river. I’d rate it 9/10 for its scenic beauty and tranquil atmosphere.
Pros:
Beautiful Views: The walkway offers gorgeous views of the Nile, especially during sunset or at night when the lights of the city reflect on the water. It's a great place to take photos or simply enjoy the calm surroundings. Clean and Well-Maintained: The walkway is well-kept, with plenty of seating, greenery, and wide paths. It’s an ideal spot for a leisurely stroll or just sitting and enjoying the view. Quiet and Relaxing: Unlike the hustle and bustle of other parts of Cairo, this area offers a peaceful escape, perfect for walking, jogging, or spending time with family. Convenient Amenities: There are several cafes and kiosks along the path, so it’s easy to grab a drink or snack while enjoying the scenery. Cons:
Crowded on Weekends: Like most popular spots, it can get quite busy, especially on weekends or holidays, which might detract from the serene experience. Limited Activities: The walkway is mainly for walking and relaxing, so if you're looking for more activities or attractions, it might not offer much beyond that. Cost: Entrance to Ahl Misr Walkway is typically free, though there might be a small fee (around 10–20 EGP) for access to certain areas or special sections. Overall, it’s a very affordable way to enjoy a beautiful part of the city.
In conclusion, Ahl Misr Walkway is a perfect spot to unwind and take in the beauty of the Nile. It’s peaceful, clean, and accessible, making it a great place to relax, take a walk, or spend quality time with...
Read moreAs usual, it was promising, but ended up being a disappointment. The idea of a proper place to go on a walk by the nile was very appealing, especially when you consider the fact that it's damn near impossible to go walking anywhere in Cairo now when almost all the sidewalks have been removed to allow more lanes for cars, and almost all the trees have been cut down for some unknown reason. But the mentality is still the same. It's one big block of concrete on the water. You can't go walking there in the morning at all since there are no trees (or any other structure for that matter) to provide shade. It's only nice later in the day starting around sunset. I visited this place approximately one month after it was opened and I found the tiles broken up. Someone said it was because they remembered to put down the natural gas pipes AFTER they finished everything, but I'm not sure. But either way, it's a waste of public funds, as usual. There's a small parking, I don't recall the fee exactly but I think it was around 20 L.E per hour. There was a public bathroom which I personally didn't use but it seemed clean enough, which is a huge plus. (probably the only reason this is a two-star review instead of one) It used to be free until mid July when they started demanding 20 L.E per person for the lower floor (the upper floor is basically the street). I don't know the rationale behind this honestly. I am very disappointed. I had very high hopes for this place. Personally, I'm not going there again...
