Super friendly and funny host. The tiny outdoor terrace has semi decent view of rooftops of old town. The charcuterie and cheese board was average quality. There are some usual cheeses (by American standards) but nothing life-changing as other reviews would lead you to believe. The steak and lamb chop were cooked over old grape vines I think, but sadly it doesn't really make any difference to the flavor. The wine by the glass is a very small pour and expensive for the quality. I don't recommend any full meal there. Not worth the over 100 euro for two. Maybe just buy a whole bottle and drink it outside. But oh, the flies. OMG the flies. I don't know where they come from because there's no bad smell, but it's almost as if there's a landfill right below the terrace because there are...

Wow, just wow. The atmosphere was excellent, the service was amazing and the food was a marvel. Cheese and meat was the best we have tried. The wine was an excellent addition to our experience making our visit to the area worthwhile. Highly suggested.

Note: Some negative Google reviews comments are not representative to our experience or they seem that owners have improved and rectified.

The service in particular was in English which helped us understand what we were ordering, what wine to choose and whether what we were ordering was more than enough for two people.

The view from the yard is exceptional during lunch time. We arrived at the opening time at 12pm and we got served immediately. Everything was great...

Amazing food and service! Staff was extremely accommodating and friendly even with my wife and I bringing a 7 month old in a giant stroller. The food was equally as delicious. My wife has the baked camembert and I (after a little prompting from the staff) had the entrecote cooked over grape vines. I've worked as a cook in a charcoal steakhouse for several years so I feel qualified to say that they do right by you. My wife claims the camembert is all she ever wants to eat from now on. The wine, being from the region also did not disappoint.

This is the first place that's actually prompted me to write a review, it was that...

This was an impressive dining experience. If you like cheese, this is your place. Dozens of cheeses await you. We ordered the fondue, and it came with far more than we could ever eat for a table of four. Ordering was not exactly easy for us, as we don’t speak French and the menu is written out daily. There was a main pot and a secondary soft hot cheese. Both great for dipping. One issue is that they did not really offer enough items to dip in the cheese, but that would be the one small complaint. It really is a very authentic feeling French experience. It is small and cozy with a fire going. Would recommend booking in advance.

WARNING! We ate here and were served mouldy rotten food. We were offered replacement but we felt unable to eat more. We were not offered any discount. €42 for cheese, mouldy potatoes and 2 glasses of terrible wine.. Worst experience in St Emilion. Avoid this over priced, over hyped tourist trap. UPDATE: in response to the owner - a mouldy potato is a mouldy potato and can make you sick. To compare the mould on a potato to the controlled propagation of mould in a cheese shows your lack of knowledge.

Try something original! Great and relaxed concept. If you are a cheese lover or else you will be after your visit. About 40 different French cheeses to choose from, Choose as much as you like from the cheese counter. Flat price. Choose any wine, 6 euro a glass or if you feel like it, bring the bottle home with you afterwards. Great hospitality. Very nice quiet location with outdoor seating. Great little restaurant and a great experience.
