I recently stayed at the O.lysée Hôtel with my sister for my birthday weekend. The hotel is in a great location, right off the Champs-Élysées and very close to metro links (Franklin D. Roosevelt is the closest station served by lines 1 and 9). The hotel is small like most similar hotels in Paris but the decor is very attractive and hotel front desk area, lift and rooms were all very clean.
All the staff working the hotel were all very helpful and attentive to our needs and provided helpful recommendations of where to eat and what to see during our time in Paris. They were very friendly and approachable so we felt comfortable asking for the recommendations.
We arrived before the check-in time and had something booked for when check-out officially opened. However, staff were happy to accommodate us and allowed us to leave our bags with them and receive our room card after we returned to the hotel.
Our room was on the 5th floor (this hotel has 5 floors) but luckily they had a small lift so we didn't have to take the stairs. The room was not very big, but that was expected as most hotel rooms in Paris are small. However, the room and ensuite were clean, nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable. (Please excuse the photos, I forgot to take them as soon as we entered the room so it may seem like the bed is a little messy, but trust me, everything was very tidy when we first entered the room!)
The breakfast room was also similarly decorated like the rest of the hotel. The staff member responsible for breakfast was very cheerful and patient with us, particularly as our French was not very good and she did not speak much English either. The breakfast itself was very basic, so this may be something that can be improved on. However, if you are staying in Paris, you are likely to be going to patisseries and bakeries so a basic breakfast at the hotel is not a big problem as you will be eating a lot of great food in Paris.
There was some construction work going on in the building next to the hotel which may be a problem for some and as the hotel is right off the Champs-Élysées there is a lot of traffic. However, as we were out most of the day, we were not affected by any noise from either of these. Even during the evenings and night we were not affected by any noise from the street.
Overall, our stay at O.lysée Hôtel was lovely. The staff at the hotel even prepared a small gift of chocolates and balloons on my birthday, which was unexpected but very thoughtful and appreciated. I would recommend the hotel to my family and friends and will likely book a stay again the next time I...
Read moreVery bad experience. This is the first time that something like this happened to me in Europe.
After paying the full amount of my booking during the check-in, a copy of my credit card was printed without my authorization in a small room behind the reception and stored in the reception, violating european personal data privacy regulations, since they pretended to have a physical copy of the card instead of a digital encrypted version, which they and booking.com already had. Other guests in the reception of the hotel comented that their card was not copied. They refused to destroy the copy of my credit card when I saw the paper that they were trying to hide from me. I was scared for any non-authorized charges from the hotel or even worst, someone taking the credit card details due to bad security practices.
Since the manager only works during the week, I was able to talk with him 2 days after (Monday) and only after expressing my intention to escalate the situation, he decided to return me the copy of my credit card that was illegally copied.
The rooms are completely new but a bit small, the bed was very comfortable, the location is excellent and the service was excellent, but unfortunately we had that...
Read moreLove this hotel! We stayed here in Paris this month. The location was incredible. Literally feet away from all of the shops in Champs Elysses and a few feet away from the metro as well! Walking distance to the Arc de Triomphe. Walking distance to tons of restaurants. Absolutely perfect location. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. They asked us how we were and how we enjoyed the day every evening when we came in. Our flight out got cancelled, the hotel was unfortunately booked up and we couldn’t extend our stay but they went as far as checking with another hotel for availability as well and following up with us to make sure we found somewhere. The lobby has an amazing smell as well. The room is small but most in this area are. For the price I don’t think we could beat it. The only downside in my opinion was that the elevator is very small - BUT me and my husband both fit on there with our carry on luggage so it was fine - but if you’re claustrophobic maybe go one at a time. It’s a small hotel but I we enjoyed it very much. Like I said the location was insanely convenient for us so I would definitely...
