We came from New York looking for an Italian eatery with pasta. We sat down and was told we had to use the phone. The web site was a bit confusing regarding how to order so we asked one of the staff for assistance on how to add in extra chicken for spaghetti. He said that's not his job and directed us to a manager. The manager walked passed us three ti.e without a "wait a minute or I'll be rit with you". He finally came just To tell us we have. To order online, we said, we explained that we already understand that it's just that we did not know exactly how to order extra things. He continued to direct us to the website and basically told us to figure it out. You didn't go back to the cashier. Then told someone else we have to order at the front if we don't know how to order a live. He walked to the front and he gave us the menu folder up and put it in my hands quickly and walked off dismissively. He then sucked his teeth when we asked to repeat the order once we did get the online order . He was very rude and arrogant and unapologetically arrogant. In addition, the glasses we were served had specks of dirt and fingerprints on it. When we call the moment to ask him to change it.He began telling us about how the dish washing machine works. He told us that the desserts makes it look like that but it's not dirty. I asked him.How would he tell me that it's clean when I am telling him that it's dirty and ask for new classes? He began to interrupt and explain that the glasses weren't dirty. I had to explain that if I'm telling him.The glasses are dirty and he should make effort to give new glasses or another option such as paper cups. He said that's what he was planning on doing. However this was well after there was a five minute debate on the cleanseness of the glasses. This was our experience and it was obvious that raicism is alive and strong in Paris. He dismissively ignored us and the food was not tasty. I will never recommend this spot to and. The Visgo on Mabauff...
Read moreThe most horrible vapiano in the entire world.
Have been all over the world, was hungry, so decided to visit vapiano in France to get standard food and experience.
Our experience started off with RUDE and IMPOLITE staff Barry who is at the pizza station. Right from taking order and basic etiquette in talking was way off for someone in the service industry.
I placed my order, put the card on the machine, and then Barry started making the pizza without giving me the buzzer machine. Then called me back when I was in another queue, thus making me go back to rejoin to queue and wait 20mins.
When I asked him why he didn't give me the buzzer the first time itself, which would have avoided the delay, he went extra rude.
Manager heard us and came to check what was happening, I started narrating the incident to her, he started screaming and talking on top of us. I told him that Im talking to her and he should not interrupt.
Barry asked us to leave the restaurant. That was enough humiliation and we decided to leave.
Manager apologised and mentioned that she acknowledgedes that her staff is rude,
Vapiano is a great quality food chain. But staff like Barry and others in the restaurant including the lady who took order at the pasta station can destroy the brand.
Such people don't deserve to be in the service industry. They are not fit. I don't think training will do any good since the attitude is bad.
I don't know if someone reading this review will experience what we did, but for us vapiano France surely ruined our...
Read moreVisited with my husband, two children, and sister in law. Walked in and learned of the concept - quirky, but decided to give it a try. Didn’t have an issue ordering the kids’ pizzas, but the minute my husband got in line to order his he was told, by the one guy behind the pizza area, that he’d have to wait to order so he could make the pizzas. He gave up on that idea and we honestly should’ve left then but the kids’ dinners were already ordered.
My sister in law and I went for the pasta line. At one point there were THIRTY PEOPLE in line for four pasta stations that averaged five minutes per person. Twenty seven in line when we were waiting. There were other pasta stations by the pizza station that were not opened. Then I was told that I could not use my card - all adults were given a card for ordering and charging their food. That meant I had to put my kids’ meals on my card, but when I went to order mine I was notified I was going to be “over on the limit”. HOW IN THE WORLD WAS I SUPPOSED TO FEED MY KIDS if a) only adults got them and b) they put a limit on the card? My husband had to go back to the front of the restaurant to get another card. We waited a ridiculously long amount of time for average at best food.
If you appreciate service, highly recommend you skip this one. Unless you are cool with standing in line for your own food FOR FOREVER and paying €7 a piece for a bottle of water (oh yeah, we paid €28 in WATER for our family). Definitely go for...
