The pizza isn’t bad but it’s not great either but when on the Champs Élysée the shopping tends to be better than the quality of food. When I arrived, I was seated within a matter of minutes but the waiter didn’t seem too eager to assist. I was pleasant, spoke French but he must’ve been having a bad day because he really didn’t care one way or another. He also didn’t check on me which was strange because he helped others…??? I finally finished my diner, went to him to pay because he was too busy to check on me. He still had nor parting words or a thank you. Needless to say that I was unimpressed with Cafe di Roma and recommended only if you fit a certain profile. I don’t like saying that yet I noticed a pattern.

We recently tried pizza in Cafe di Roma and loved it. The pizzas cost between 15-18 euros, which is fair for what you get. They're big enough for one person to enjoy without feeling hungry afterward. The best thing about the pizzas is how fresh they are. They have good vegetarian options as well. The service is quick and friendly. Even when it's busy, they get your order to you fast. One thing to remember is that this place can get really busy. When we went, there was a line. So, it's a good idea to book ahead if you don't want to wait. Overall, it is a great spot for pizza in Paris. The food is tasty, the prices are fair, and you'll leave with a full belly and a smile.

We were greeted and taken to a table by one member of staff, then another came over and told us (rudely) that we were sat at the wrong table… the one we were taken to… and made to move. I don’t expect everyone to be cheerful all the time as everyone has a bad day but some politeness or friendliness when you’re in a customer facing position goes a long way. We ordered pizzas and a side of fries but were halfway done with the pizzas before the fries came out which felt like bad planning. They were hot and clearly fresh, but we’d started to think they had forgotten. The food was generally fine, but combined with the service I wouldn’t pick here over somewhere else.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5

If you’re looking for a perfect dining experience on the Champs-Élysées, Café di Roma is a must-visit. This charming Italian café delivers everything you could want — delicious food, impeccable service, a lovely atmosphere, and an impressive wine selection. From the moment I arrived, the experience was delightful, and it’s a place I can wholeheartedly recommend to anyone visiting Paris.

Warm and Inviting Atmosphere

Café di Roma offers a beautiful setting that balances a relaxed vibe with sophistication. The décor features classic Italian elements with modern touches, creating a cozy yet stylish atmosphere. The warm lighting and the soft hum of conversation make it an ideal spot for both casual lunches and intimate dinners. Whether you sit inside or enjoy the outdoor seating for a bit of Parisian people-watching, the ambiance enhances the entire experience.

Excellent Service

The service at Café di Roma was exceptional. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and professional without being overbearing. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with a friendly smile and quickly shown to a table. My server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered thoughtful suggestions based on my tastes. They made sure I was comfortable, checked in at just the right moments, and ensured my dining experience was seamless. It’s clear that the staff take pride in their work, making each guest feel valued and cared for.

Delicious Pepperoni Pizza

Now, let’s talk about the food — particularly the pepperoni pizza. It was hands-down one of the best I’ve had in a long time. The crust was thin, crispy, and perfectly charred, while the toppings were fresh and flavorful. The pepperoni had a slight spice that paired beautifully with the melted mozzarella and the rich, tangy tomato sauce. Each bite was a delicious combination of textures and flavors, reminding me of authentic Italian pizzerias. The portion size was generous, and I savored every slice.

Heavenly Lava Cake

After the pizza, I decided to indulge in their lava cake for dessert, and it was an absolute showstopper. The cake was warm, rich, and decadent, with a molten chocolate center that oozed out perfectly with the first bite. The combination of the moist cake and the flowing chocolate was pure bliss, and it paired wonderfully with the scoop of vanilla ice cream served alongside. It was the kind of dessert that makes you close your eyes and savor the moment — a perfect end to a fantastic meal.

Great Red Wine Selection

To complement my meal, I enjoyed a glass of their red wine, which was full-bodied, smooth, and perfectly balanced. The wine list features a thoughtful selection of Italian and French wines, and the server’s recommendation was spot-on. The richness of the red wine elevated the flavors of the pizza and added to the overall dining experience. It’s always a pleasure when a restaurant takes as much care with its wine as it does with its food.

Final Thoughts

Café di Roma on the Champs-Élysées is everything you could hope for in an Italian café — delicious food, wonderful service, a great wine selection, and a cozy yet elegant atmosphere. Whether you’re craving a perfectly made pepperoni pizza, a decadent lava cake, or a relaxing glass of red wine, this café delivers in every category. The staff’s warmth and attention to detail made me feel right at home, and the quality of the food was top-notch.

Really disappointed with the service, the food was good. We asked for a seat of 5 for the outdoor patio. The waiter who was wearing green I am guessing the manager seated us but didn’t give us any menus. We are from out of the country so not sure of the customs. My family noticed that there was a scan menu for phones but our phones had really bad service and the menus wouldn’t load. I asked the waiter for a few menus (after waiting 15 mins) and he told us to scan the code and I told him the reception was bad on our phones. He grabs 1 menu for the 5 of us and kinda throws it at our table. He didn’t acknowledge us at all and when he did he gave us the biggest attitude. Thankfully we got another waiter who was so much better and tended to us and which is why I gave the service more stars, but he was busy with other tables as well. When it was time to get the check I asked him in French if I could get my receipt and he nods, but 15 mins of waiting and still nothing. Our other waiter ended up getting our receipt. I was a bit curious if this was how restaurants were in France, so I decided to observe this waiter. I watched this waiter in green wait on other tables and pass out menus and waters and smiling and laughing, but because my family and I were tourist I guess he figured he could treat us like dirt. My family and I left feeling really upset like we were bottom barrel. At least the food was alright, but honestly I won’t be...

We had a very unpleasant experience at this restaurant. We waited in the outdoor seating queue for more than 30 mins while we could see a table for 2 vacant since we entered the queue. There was only one family of 3 people before us in the queue. After the family got some other table, we were given the same table which was vacant for the past 30 mins. Not sure why we were kept waiting in the queue for more than 30 mins.

Secondly, within 2-3 mins after sitting at the table, I waved towards the person managing the area, he acknowledged my wave but never came to my table.

We had pasta and pizza. Both were decent in taste.

Later a waiter came and requested us to move to a neighbouring table because he wanted to join our table with some othe table. We had almost finished food so I asked him to get bill, paid for the food and left the table. I did not ordered repeat drink or desserts.

It was an unwelcoming experience. I will never step into this restaurant again and will not recommend it to anyone.

Hope this review saves other tourists from such experience.
