My wife and I are visiting from Manhattan and went to this store to pick up a few items. I noticed while we were there the door theft alarm was frequently going off for no apparent reason and was either not working or set to go off randomly. A couple of hours later we went back because my wife decided she wanted a pair of shoes she saw earlier. We went in one door and the alarm did not go off. However, after she purchased her shoes and we left it did. Instead of waiving us on a bald hefty middle age Frenchman stopped us and began to really hassle us. We had the receipts and gave them to him but he didn’t seem to be able to comprehend them and kept trying to use a little hand scanner to figure out if we were robbing the store. I think this guy would have to take both his shoes off to count to 20. I asked his younger co-worker for the store manager and he said the security guy giving us a hard time was the manager. I’m sure he was not. Finally, after about ten minutes he was able to understand from the receipts we were in the store a couple of hours earlier. He pointed to the time by tapping on the first receipt and acted quite proud to have figured it out. Crime solved! Something clicked in this jerks primordial soup of a brain. We are in our 60s. I know you can’t always tell a couple by their looks but I just don’t think we look the type to run out of the store without paying for a cloth bag, two children’s baseball caps (for our grandchildren) and an inexpensive pair of ladies sandals.
We walked by about 20 minutes later and saw from outside he was hassling someone else. I highly recommend you avoid this place if you don’t want to be hassled. This guy is on a power trip and...
Read moreTerrible service and attitude! I would not recommend you go here for a meal
Went for lunch at the Monoprix restaurant, very simple order, 2 cappuccinos a cheese burger and a salad, after waiting for over 30 minutes I asked the waiter where our drinks were as the people who had arrived later had already received their meals, he then said there must be a problem with the machine and asked what our order was, he then ran off and another man arrived apologising for the waiter who later claimed to be the manager and he asked what we ordered, he then offered to give us drinks for free which was a good gesture seeing that they had not started with our meal yet
Food came and I had to find the waiter / manager for the cheque, he then got it and the drinks were charged, I told him that we didn’t need free drinks but the other guy who I took as the manager offered us free drinks as compensation, he then said that he is the manager and that this isn’t possible, he then offered to give us one drink for free, when I questioned him he said, “sorry now you pay for both drinks full price” and had such a terrible attitude, at this stage the other guy who offered us the drink came and he said, “don’t worry I am the manager and took off the drinks” the other guy stormed off and went to complain to his colleague at the corner as we walked by
There are many really good options to enjoy down the Champs, I would not recommend you put yourself through the frustration to visit...
Read moreWhile I was entering the store on 21 May 2025, around 16:30-17:30 , the glass sliding door closed and my hand got hit by the door. It felt sooo much painful and I was in shock. There is a guy in front of the store (Monoprix staff) cooking pancakes he did not even care, I went in. There’s a guy standing as security. I tried to explain him what happened and asked him to check if the door is working properly in order not to have other people hurt. He did not even care, he made a gesture with his hands pointing his eyes and telling me: DONT YOU HAVE EYES? YOU ARE THE ONE TO BE CAREFUL. he accused me of not being careful enough without even asking what happened to me, is there a health issue,if they could help me etc. all my conversation was in English and he understood me well enough to accuse me. However when I said ‘If you are not asking me how I feel and accusing me instead of checking on me, I want to speak to a manager of the store.’ He said ‘ Madame no English. Go go go’
Ok let’s say I was not careful, do I reserve to be treated unattended?
And what if there’s a very a small percentage that the sliding door needs calibration, why does he not note it and take caution?
At the end my hand got edema and more painful now with mobility issues. I will have it checked by a medical...
