I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mun Sushi, and while the quality of the food was good, the service left much to be desired. From the moment we were seated, the experience took a sharp turn downhill, and I feel compelled to share my disappointment with both the restaurant and prospective guests.
After being seated, we waited a full 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged our presence. It felt as though we were invisible, and we weren’t greeted with any sort of warmth or even eye contact from our server, Maévea. When she did eventually arrive, the level of engagement was minimal, and we felt as though we were imposing on her time. She was dismissive and, frankly, made us feel like we were bothering her while being sat at our own table.
Our drinks were brought out after our food had already arrived, which felt completely out of order. Adding to the frustration, we watched as our food sat waiting on a tray across the restaurant from us for about 10 minutes, before it was finally delivered.
When the food did arrive, it was all brought at once, appetizers and mains together, which created a rushed and chaotic dining experience. We didn’t have time to enjoy each dish individually, and everything felt like it was thrown at us without any consideration for pacing.
To make matters worse, Maévea made us feel like we did not have enough money to pay for our meal based on our age, and our looks. This not only felt completely out of line and disrespectful it also added an unwelcome, awkward tone to the entire evening. A server should never assume the income of their customers.
Throughout the evening, my friends and I watched as Maévea interacted with other tables in a much more pleasant and attentive manner. It became clear that we were being treated differently. Not only was our experience subpar, but we also felt as though we were being judged and dismissed without reason.
This behavior was deeply off-putting and quite frankly, unprofessional for any dining establishment, especially one that claims to provide quality service and cuisine.
While the food itself was pretty good (not for the price, you can find much cheaper sushi elsewhere) this negative service experience overshadowed our entire evening.
I sincerely hope that Mun Sushi takes this feedback seriously, as the service needs immediate attention if you wish to maintain a reputation for not only serving great food but also delivering a memorable and positive...
Read moreOur experience at Mun in Paris was deeply disappointing and frankly unacceptable especially for a restaurant that positions itself as premium. We were the first to arrive. Instead of being welcomed, we were received with visible annoyance, as if our presence was an inconvenience rather than the purpose of their business. The hostess’ attitude was cold, almost hostile, which immediately set the wrong tone for the evening. Then came the service and it got worse. While the waiter spoke to my partner in French, I politely mentioned that I speak English. From that moment, his tone became condescending and aggressive. He leaned into my face and began shouting phrases like “WELCOME! HAVE A NICE EVENING!” in a mocking tone, as if I were deaf or stupid. It was humiliating, especially knowing that he was clearly aware I was from Russia. Now to the food: completely underwhelming. The sushi and rolls were of mediocre quality indistinguishable from what you’d find pre-packaged at a Monoprix. The pricing is absurd. Nothing about the flavors or presentation justified the cost. The restroom situation was equally unacceptable. Only one stall was functioning, and guests had to line up like it was a fast-food joint, not an upscale establishment. It’s laughable or it would be, if it weren’t so uncomfortable. And the final, unforgivable detail: I witnessed a waiter pick up food that had fallen from a tray and put it back onto a plate to be served. That is not just unprofessional. That is a health hazard, plain and simple. The so-called “view” is also misleading. Unless you are seated on the limited terrace space, there is nothing to see but walls and shadows. All in all, this was a terrible evening. I will never return, and I strongly urge others to stay away. This restaurant thrives on image and branding not quality, not service, and certainly...
Read moreMy main complaint was our waitress (everyone else was pleasant). The favoritism towards French patrons was very real with her. I’m as relaxed as they come, but also observant and it was obvious we were not being taken care of in the same way as the French speaking tables. We had two of them DIRECTLY next to us and in ear shot(my French isn’t on point but I can understand some), we were sat before the second table and they not only received their bottled water 10 minutes before us, but also received cocktails before us. We ordered another round of drinks when our food arrived, our drinks didn’t come until our meals were FINISHED. When the French patrons meals were finished, the waitress wiped their tables with a cloth, she did not even bother with ours. I was there with my 14 year old daughter and it was so disappointing to be treated like second class citizens! To add insult to injury, when we received the bill a charge for a glass of wine(that I did NOT order) was on the bill. I hate to assume the worst, but CHECK YOUR BILLS AMERICAN PATRONS!!! When I pointed it out to the waitress she didn’t even hesitate to remove it(almost behaving like a very guilty person caught in the act). It breaks my heart to bring this all to light because we truly enjoyed the food and ambiance. Just wished the service was cohesive to all parties attending especially considering the costs...
