One of the most interesting things to see at Place des Vosges in the Le Marais is the equestrian statue of King Louis XIII. The original was created and erected here in 1639. However it was destroyed during the French Revolution near the end of the 18th century. A new marble statue was created by Jean-Pierre Corto and installed here in 1829.

What you will see is a depiction of the king in the manner of a Roman emperor riding through a crowd of loyal subjects. He is wearing a cloak and laurel wreath upon his head. His left hand is bent and rests near his chest while his right arm is extended. The horse appears to ride steadily forward.

It is a nice equestrian statue and worth paying a few minutes to enjoy if you plan to visit Place de Vosges and enjoy seeing monuments and statues during...

Very famous square in Paris set close to the beautiful Marais district, the architecture and layout of the buildings is fantastic and there is also a museum within Victor Hugo’s house. Lovely park area. Well worth a visit whilst in Paris. Maybe a place to visit if you are a regular to Paris if you’ve already done all of the major...

I really loved my visit to Cour des Vosges hotel, a true hidden gem nestled in the heart of the historic Marais district of Paris. Don’t tell the rest of Paris but this is my favorite area of the city! As you step inside, the hustle and bustle of the city fades away, replaced by an opulent and serene atmosphere that transports you to a world of luxury and exclusivity. The Cour des Vosges offers 12 lavish suites and rooms, each with exposed beams and glamorous stainless steel accents. Every detail is meticulously crafted to curate an atmosphere of sophistication and elegance. Transport yourself back to the 17th century space with 21st century amenities, and I’ll even add those extra special Virtuoso touches when you book this exclusive property with me. #luxurytravel #luxuryvacation #luxurytour #luxurylifestyle #luxuryholidays #luxuryadventure #luxetravel #opulenttravel #luxurious getaways #virtuosohotels #luxuryparis #lemarais #courdesvosges #placedesvosges #visitparis #fyp #travelfyp
