Barthélémy — Local services in Paris

Ina Garten has said that Barthélémy is one of her go to fromageries, so of course I had to check it out. I walked into Barthélémy and when I was asked what I was looking for, I said I want any and all cheese that is prohibited in the U.S. The assignment was understood and I was given the best recommendations. We ended up with an in-season chèvre, a variation of Epoisses, and Mimolette Extra-Vieille. All were unbelievably tasty. The Mimolette is like nothing I've ever tasted before. Just wow. So I bought fontainebleau maison from barthélémy in Paris..when I got there the clerk was trying to help me buy the right cheese. I had a communication issue. I didn't speak much french and the sale person didn't speak much English. So I ended up buying something I don't know what to do with. I remember the sale person say fruit so I grab two jar of jam one White fig and one strawberry..well ended up making a dessert that was wonderful slightly cheesey but sweet light as a cloud ..if you look on YouTube under barthélémy paris the very last items in the video is what I bought.. supper Happy it turns out great.. Nous nous sommes rendus ce soir 24 Octobre 2025, à la fromagerie. vers 18h32, en tant que clients fidèles depuis Noël. Malheureusement, l'expérience fut très décevante en raison de l'accueil et du service. À notre arrivée, nous n'avons reçu aucun bonsoir, et notre propre salutation n'a pas été retournée. La dame en service (âge assez mûr, cheveux courts) était en pleine conversation avec un autre employé (nous étions les seuls clients) et l'a poursuivie sans nous accorder d'attention. Alors que nous regardions le Brillat-Savarin à la truffe (qui était protégé par un emballage), et après qu'elle m'ait indiqué sa texture fondante, j'ai tenté d'effleurer très légèrement le fromage pour confirmer cette texture. Mon geste n'était absolument pas intentionnel pour le toucher pleinement. L'employée a immédiatement sursauté et retiré le fromage avec une vivacité et une véhémence que j'ai trouvées disproportionnées et très embarrassantes. Il est à noter qu'elle ne portait pas de gants… Le point le plus important à souligner est qu'en quittant le magasin, mon mari l'a clairement vue faire une grimace à mon sujet. C'est une attitude inacceptable et très irrespectueuse, et à l'opposé de l'image d'une enseigne de ce standing. Les produits sont de qualité, mais le service client ne l'est malheureusement pas.

Nous comprenons l'importance de l'hygiène, mais l'accueil général et cette attitude très désagréable ont totalement gâché...
