The experience at Georgian flavors cooking class was so much fun and memorable that I cannot describe in words. But let me try my bit :) . I was on a solo trip to Tbilisi and I am a fan of cooking in general and was keen on exploring Georgian food, but in a proper way, through a masterclass. I was on a keto diet and Irma's Georgian cooking class was the only one in Tbilisi where classes are customized as per the diet of the customer. 3 days prior to the cooking class, Irma has coordinated with me so well on ingredients which fall under Keto diet and if I am allergic to anything. Everything panned out very well, every dish was keto friendly and I was surprised that someone could be so professional with utmost care of customer's choices. All credits to Irma and her cousin for teaching me intricacies of Georgian cooking and me being an Indian I could instantly connect with most of the ingredients. The overall vibe with Irma as host was so warm, caring, positive, cherishing at the same time very very enriching. I just did not know how time flew. Right from the time we cooked together till we had lunch and wine, we talked about cooking techniques/ingredients/taste profiles/ education/work culture/travel and a lot of things. It felt like I was at home in a foreign land having a good time with warm ladies, good food and wine. I am gonna go back again next time with my husband :)

Dishes in my cooking class as follows: Tomatoes filled with cheese with herbs and spices Cucumber and tomato salad Tabakha Chicken Eggplant with Walnut paste Lemonade Yoghurt with berry compote/fruits using erythritol sweetener Wine offered by sweet Irma! A lot of love & care!!!!

With love,...

One of my must do activities when I travel to a new country Is taking a cooking class of a local cuisine. Last month I visited Tbilisi for the first time and I was absolutely lucky to find out the Georgian Flavours cooking class. From the very first communication I had with Irma she left a great impression of a truly professional yet warm and kind person! I'm very grateful that she made it possible to arrange a cooking class for me, my husband and our 1.5 years old daughter on a short notice! Irma and Bako were so accommodating and welcoming and tailored for us a family friendly experience! It was incredibly sweet of Bako to prepare a special soup for our daughter before our arrival , so she could have a lunch while we cook. The whole experience truly exceeded our expectations - it was soo enjoyable and stress free - our daughter was actively engaged in cooking session and she even made her first khachapuri! We loved the food we made - classical georgian recipes made of locally grown fresh vegetables and herbs. The culmination of the class was the dinner - the food, the decor, the wine, conversations - all together allowed us to taste and explore the Georgian culture. This is exactly what I was looking for! Me and my family were very happy and would definitely experience Georgian Flavours classes again in our next visit...

Irma is a wonderfully warm teacher who made us feel at home in her well-appointed kitchen as she guided us through her family recipes. It was a real pleasure to work with ingredients both new and familiar, and to get a sense of the deep and varied flavors of Georgian cuisine. The evening culminated in our gorgeous dinner which included a traditional dessert, wine and deep conversation about the history and present of Georgia. As others have shared, this class really augmented everything I've been learning while in Tbilisi and added a depth to the visit that may not have come about otherwise.

Also as a gluten-sensitive person, it was very touching and nice that Irma made sure to offer traditional alternatives to the menu that accommodated the sensitivity. She checked in prior to the class and confirmed before creating the menu for our dinner.

I'm looking forward to practicing these new dishes at home and giving my friends and loved ones a little taste of Georgia. I highly advise anyone who finds themselves in Tbilisi and wants to explore the rich culinary traditions here firsthand to work with Irma and...

Taking this experience with Irma (Mia) from Georgian Flavors was one of the most authentic and beautiful moments I’ve ever had. I still feel like I’m in another dimension. What I experienced that day was so, so, so wonderful, profound, colorful, flavorful, and truly authentic. This experience was literally a gift. The moment we shared together with Irma, her cousin Bako (who was helping us the whole time) will stay with me forever. Irma is full of kindness and generosity. She opens not just her house but also her heart, creating an atmosphere where you’re not just learning recipes but truly sharing moments and building memories that last a lifetime. Whenever I think of Tbilisi, I’ll always remember you, your home, and all of us cooking together. What you are offering is so important, and I’m deeply grateful for it. This is not just a simple cooking class, it’s something much more. It’s a doorway into Georgia’s soul: its culture, its cuisine, and its identity. I recommend this experience more than any other tour. If you want to connect with Georgia in a real, meaningful way… please, do it. You won’t regret it.

We did two of Irma’s experiences. The first was the cooking class near Kutaisi with Daria. This was one of the most unique, special, and once in a lifetime experiences I have ever had when travelling. We got to see a lovely village, and experience Georgian hospitality. Daria is a great cook, and she makes the experience a constant joy. The food we made was fantastic, and the supra after was one of the highlights of our two weeks in Georgia. We also did the class with Irma in Tbilisi. This is tied with Daria’s as the best thing we did in Georgia. Irma is a great teacher, and she really understands the food and how to explain the minute details that’s you can’t get from a recipe. She was very accommodating, and made sure there was vegetarian food for me as well as meat for my husband. The meal after was a great chance to just talk about Georgia, a country we love. I would highly recommend that anyone does either of these classes. Each takes about half a day, and you eat so much you won’t need dinner. We will do this again if/when we go back to a Georgia. I cannot recommend this enough.
