I have travelled to Tbilisi for business. I have chosen Hotel ROOMS because of a conference I was attending took place in it and it was a reputable hotel. I have stayed 6 days and it has been a comfortable stay if not for the elements below that have left me disappointed.
Each day after coming back to the hotel I was leaving some spare change (coins) on the desk. Next morning, after cleaning staff was arranging the room the change would disappear. About 10 EUR worth of change. Not much and I would have not minded to leave it as a tip at checkout, clearly marked as a tip to the cleaning staff, but instead they chose to just take it. It made me feel unsafe to leave any valuable things in the room.
During my stay I have attempted to pay for my stay at the front desk. The lady there charged me only for half of my stay instead of the whole 6 days and did not issue me an invoice saying that they will only give the invoice to me at checkout. I did not check whether she charged me the whole amount as I expected nothing less. But I insisted to get the invoice as I was checking out very early in the morning and wanted to avoid the hassle. She just would not agree to it. I tried several other times including the night before my departure (check-out at 2 a.m.). They still would not budge..
At checkout, early morning, I learn that I have to pay another amount because I was not charged fully. I was in a rush and late for my flight and my bank had an issue with the mobile banking so it took some time to be able to pay and then to get the invoice. I did not mind paying, but I wanted to be able to know beforehand that I was not fully charged and to be able to settle the amounts in the evening to avoid the hassle and the lost time. The staff did not consider this and preferred to leave the invoicing for the very last moment.
I asked for early check in and I was flat out refused and asked instead to pay for an extra night. Considering how much I paid per night and how many nights I booked, I would have appreciated a bit of flexibility. Instead, at checkout I was informed I will be charged a no-show fee because I did not show up for the first night of the reservation. Although I paid for it after being refused an early check in.
I am traveling all over the world very often and I have been to countries where it was not safe to step out of the hotel, let alone leave valuables in the room, but I still received better service than at ROOMS. It is the first time in my traveling experience when a hotel does not accept an early booking. If nothing else as a courtesy for a client who has paid premium price for the booking made..
The hotel is beautiful and comfortable but the lack of flexibility and understanding from the staff made me leave Georgia very disappointed. I must say I travel a lot, all over the world, but I have never had a more disappointing interaction with a hotel staff or its policy. Although I loved the hotel, I will NOT book...

First of all, I have to say that I personally would not stay at Rooms Hotel Tbilisi again. My main reason is the unstable internet connection, which was a major issue for me. I had important online meetings throughout the week, and the connection was extremely unreliable. I had to bring it up twice, and while it was eventually stable, this is a no-go for me.
That being said, I am still giving this hotel three stars, and here’s why: • Staff – 5/5: The staff is absolutely fantastic. They are well-trained, highly professional, and speak perfect English. They are young, motivated, and truly save the experience. If I were rating just the staff, I would give them ten stars! • Location – 5/5: The location is amazing, no complaints at all. If this is a priority for you, the hotel definitely delivers. • Air Conditioning – 2/5: Unfortunately, this was another major issue. The first night was unbearably hot, and despite the weather changing, the air conditioning was simply not working properly. I had to change rooms three times before I got one where it worked more or less, but even then, it fluctuated daily. Every day, I had to ask staff to check it. In the end, I had to rely on opening the window to solve the problem. If functional air conditioning is important to you, keep this in mind. • Room Experience – 3/5: I am a Marriott Bonvoy Elite member, and I usually receive an upgrade. However, here, the upgrade was not given to me on the first night. I arrived late at night and was initially told that my room was an upgrade—however, this simply meant it faced the city. The room was extremely loud, and since the air conditioning wasn’t working, I had to open the window for fresh air. As a result, I couldn’t sleep at all—it was 28 degrees inside, and the street noise made it impossible to rest. The next day, I requested another room, and they moved me to one where the air conditioning was very noisy. After another request, I was finally given an actual upgrade—but only after my third room change. What was frustrating is that they did have suites and larger, quieter rooms with a garden view available, but they didn’t offer them from the beginning, despite my eligibility for an upgrade. Why keep guests in uncomfortable rooms when better options are available?
Overall, while the staff and location are exceptional, the technical issues with air conditioning, internet, and room assignment were a major drawback for me. If these aspects are important to you, consider them...
Read moreYes! Just yes!! We loved Rooms!! This is one of those rae hotels that make visiting a far-away place place awesome. When the site seeing is done, your feet tired, your head buzzing from a full day of mental stimulation, Rooms awaits, gorgeous, clean, friendly, and embracing.
Visiting Tbilisi, we'd never stay anywhere else. Beautiful in every way, this place defines "boutique hotel." We loved the wood-burning fireplace in the fabulously decorated lobby. A wood-burning fireplace, in the middle of a busy city is unheard of; and it was exactly what one would wish for on a cold Georgian night. We loved the lobby, walled on every side with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, and we enjoyed several of those books over leisurely breakfasts in the glorious open kitchen. We loved the furnishings, the art, the rugs. Every detail has been thought through, and the result is a decadent (but affordable) getaway.
Our room, 514, faced the courtyard and the hills beyond, and was perfectly quiet. It included a claw-footed bathub (and aromatic bath salts) in the sleeping area - quite the treat! The room features great details like charging plugs on both sides of the bed and at the desk. After 24+ hours of travel, we were pleasently surprised that this small hotel had late night room service. Courtyard-facing rooms have terraces with comfortable chairs and retractable awnings.
The rumor that Rooms has the best bartenders in Tbilisi proved true, emboldening us to try the local spirit, chacha. Night after night, diffferent bartenders were able to craft this petrol into something delcious. The breakfasts are memorable, wonderful, and beautifully presented. Nekka and Teona especially stand out. The frontdesk staff was outstanding, for instance suggesting restaurants and securing reservations to make up for our inability to communicate in Georgian. The whole staff was great; Ana and Taco stand out mostly because we recall their names now, a week since leaving. Arik and Alexander also, were real stand-outs for their unforgettable service.
We hope to visit Rooms' other location in Kazbegi one day - by all accounts magnificent, welcoming, and destination-worthy.
