This memorial is located near the east end of Tiergarten, between Brandenburg Gate and Reichstag. It is a simple and solemn tribute to the Sinti and Roma who were labeled as 'gypsies' and murdered under rule of the National Socialist Regime between 1933-1945.
Created by Israeli sculptor, Dani Karavan, the memorial consists of a small reflection pool and a retractable stone. A new flower that is placed on the stone daily. Surrounding the pool are various shaped flat stone surface, some slabs include names.

That the murderous Holocaust devised by the Nazis targeted as well as other well-known groups the Sinti and Roma is not well-known. So the monument performs a valuable service in educating us about that facet of the Holocaust.
I found the short video playing on the glass wall outside the memorial, which can be watched in German or English, very instructive, and found the photos of Sinti and Roma killed by the Nazis on the same wall moving.

The memorial is an enclosed area within Tiergarten with a large circular pool with a triangular stone plaque, in reference similar badges that had to be worn by concentration camp prisoners. Around the pool are paving stones, some of which have names of concentration camps carved into them.
