Good selection of shops and businesses but only two stars due to the ridiculous decision of only providing one set of toilets on only one floor, that you have to pay to enter! Yes you get a voucher but I forgot to take it as it’s not common practice and therefore you’re not used to remembering that you need to take it, let alone remember to use it when paying at the shops. And if you’re visiting from another country then you definitely don’t get a chance to use it another day. They must be making a decent amount of money from this… Unbelievable. The majority of shopping malls I’ve been to all across the world (including poorer countries with less infrastructure) have free, clean toilets available on every floor, sometimes even two sets of toilets per floor! Or at least if you have to pay, there’s more than one set of toilets for the whole shopping mall and it doesn’t take you a 5 minute walk trying to figure out where they are.
My local small town shopping mall has better toilet facilities than this and they’re easily accessible, very clean and free! Using the excuse that you chose a certain company to provide “a qualified operation” to ensure the facilities are clean enough is a very poor excuse as they they certainly weren’t clean enough to warrant this decision and definitely not an excuse to only provide toilets on one level. You have to take the stairs or a lift to get there from other levels - what if you’re in a wheelchair or you have a child with a pushchair and you urgently needs to use the bathroom and can’t wait more than several minutes. The waiting time for the lift is at least several minutes…
There was so much crowding around the toilets as there were so many people were waiting so it’s a joke that they say it’s to provide a “qualified operation for mass customers”.
Someone clearly didn’t think through this decision of providing toilet facilities properly or practically and it’s embarrassing. Definitely not an experience I would expect from a Frankfurt shopping mall.
Let’s not even start talking about the mouse running around the...
Read moreNot bad but could be a lot better. The building is generally nice. The management seems pretty good. But there are a number of big issues for me with this mall:
The restroom situation is terrible and there is no excuse for that. Totally remote, you need to take stairs and you need to pay. In America or Dubai, this alone would be a showstopper. They would NEVER let that happen. The A/C is mostly not cold enough on hot summer days. Some stores have their own, stronger A/C. Again typical for Germany. Again please see America, Dubai or other places. When it's 39 C outside, it has to be so cold inside that you could wear a light jacket or suit without sweating. The doors are cute but not practical. They should be much wider and fully automatic. The food court has way too few seats in busy times due to the architecture with the hole in the center. I have seen malls in other countries where the seating area of the food court alone is as large as your entire floor. Speaking of which, the food quality in this mall is currently terrible. The big chains are as usual - they're fine. But the other restaurants are mostly trash (sorry!). The Asian, Indian, Persian, Moroccan, Turkish and whatever food is not authentic nor fresh. Of course at these low prices it's obvious. My suggestion: Bring some (a little) more expensive restaurants with better quality. For example Vapiano for Italian. Doesn't have to be a fine Italian. The Italian food in this mall is not half as...
Read moreSkyline Plaza is sadly suffering under the typical issue of being an overly ambitious project with likely costs, so high, that it's respective rents for the stores had to be so high that it becomes completely uninteresting for a lot of potential stores.
Almost every second store is empty, filled with random art galleries or advertisements of long over events. Even stores like McDonalds and a massive Bookstore closed down a few months ago. And that despite no real competition in their respective area.
In addition the shopping centre has a surprising amount of repetition. 4-5 barbers and the same amount of nail salons are hardly necessary when the centre only has about 80 stores, of which 45 are Food related.
The only reason for me to visit would either be the food court or the electronic store "Saturn".
It's just become to empty for such a large in door shopping centre and you can easily see everything within 30min as most stores don't...
