Beautiful beautiful place in such a beautiful city. I'm so glad we decided to stop here for a day on the way back to Berlin. Rothenburg is a beautiful preserved city and it's marketplace will not disappoint you. We stayed just outside the city wall. The wall is accessible from many gates, is free to enter and it's a great start to visit the city. As you go down and enter the main street toward the market place, enjoy the sight, the old houses, the unique atmosphere as you pass through the gate and enter the market square. It's a very short walk but you will find it takes time as you must stop, soak the beauty and make all those photos and selfies. Don't miss it! We visited at day time and just had to return again at night. The locals are very nice and very proud of their home town and for a good reason. I highly recommend to stay a day or two. It's more...

Whether you’re strolling through or enjoying a meal, the Market Square gives you a sense of being in a...
Read moreTraveled here on a Romantic Road tour and though it consisted of mostly driving, it was completely worth it to see this intact German walled city. It’s absolutely magical. It’s real and although it seems Walt Disney may have tried to replicate this in the United States, it’s a sad imitation. The cobble stone streets, the church bells, the Dutch style rooftops the colorful buildings and the charming shops are an absolute national treasure! We travel in late February and the streets were vacant and some shops closed but we felt like we had it all to ourselves!
Absolute must on any tour...
