We stayed for 4 nights and had a pleasant enough stay.
The staff at reception were friendly and helpful, shout-out to the cleaning lady who went above and beyond her job to help us fix issues in the room (radiator leak on our arrival and also toilet flush issue) which she fixed herself.
The room is a smallish room but manageable for us, we packed light but if you had a few suitcases it would be difficult. My recommendations for this would be the fridge freezer wasn't necessary (we unplugged it anyway due to noise) and a nice storage could go in that corner. There was a little shelf and some hangers, with that and the fridge surface we managed to use the space alright. The bathroom is with frosted glass and is in the wet room style, which we liked alot but a little glass shelf by the sink would be a good idea for toothbrushes and toiletries and the shower head holder needed to be higher as was at child height which is weird for us over 6ft 🤣.
The bed was comfy and the hotel is in a good location as a tourist it is a very short walk from Omonia square (one of the stops for the tourist buses).
The street which everyone talks about is yes, a little rough but we did not feel at all in danger like other reviews said and we spent quite a bit of time outside late at night and in the day. Some of the streets nearby smell a bit of pee and of course graffiti everywhere. The guys that hang around the street weren't always there and never approached us but looked occasionally. The corner that is near the hotel we suspect was a place somewhere prostituting was going on (which we did hear a woman orgasming middle of night one of the days after we suspected this lol.
The hotel was peaceful in itself apart from that moment however and we were satisfied with our stay.
Don't let other reviews put you off, for the great price it is a decent stay and we stayed most of a...
Read moreWe recently stayed at the Mansion Hotel, and while there were some positive aspects, the overall experience was overshadowed by its location.
First, the good: The service at the Mansion is commendable. The staff and the owner are friendly and accommodating, making sure all your basic needs are met. The hotel itself is newly renovated, which is a nice touch—everything feels fresh, modern, and well-maintained. The rooms, while a bit small, have all the essentials you need for a comfortable stay. Additionally, the hotel is quite affordable, making it a budget-friendly option for travelers.
Unfortunately, the location is a major downside. Despite being near a number of shops, the area surrounding the hotel feels unsafe, especially at night. There were many drunk people loitering outside, and I also noticed individuals engaging in drug use nearby. It's the kind of environment that makes you want to stay inside after dark and avoid venturing out. The hotel itself can only do so much, but the surrounding area is a huge detractor and something to seriously consider before booking.
Overall, while the Mansion Hotel offers good service and clean accommodations, the poor location is a significant issue. If safety and surroundings matter to you, I would recommend...
Read moreI stayed at the hotel for 8 nights in a double room (but solo occupation). I was pleasantly surprised by the room. It had a fridge, an ac, a balcony and was always really clean. But I'd imagine that the double room would be to small for 2 people since it was a 1,4m bed, there was barely enough space for my luggage and there was only one electric outlet. The hotel was really close to the metro station Omonoia and there were a few take away places (for souvlaki and gyros) and mini marts for snacks like cookies or chips next door. There were coffee shops on the way to the metro. Some people mentioned in the reviews that they've felt really unsafe in the neighbourhood. I definitely felt safe, coming from a 25 y.o. woman travelling alone. I came back all hours of the day and night to hotel and never felt unsafe. Yes, there were homeless people sleeping on the side and prostitutes "offering their services" at the corner, but that didn't make it any less safe for me, after all I'm the guest where they are at home.
Possible improvements: A clothesline with some pegs would be great for the balcony so you could dry your swim suites and beach towels. Also more than one outlet for the room...
