The Sansal hotel is a wonderful little hotel barely a 10min walk to Chania and the old town. |We were in the 5th floor and reckoned there to be only about 24 or 25 rooms - making everything feel very personal and exclusive. The roof top pool is lovely and a cracking view over the sea and Chania. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and efficient…. On one day we found that construction work had covered cars at the front in a horrible brick-dust and the staff were cleaning the pavements outside the hotel and the guests vehicles - which was lovely. We received a bottle of wine on arrival (together with a personalised welcome card) and as it was my partners birthday mid way through our stay, she was given two free drinks vouchers from the poolside rooftop bar)|Parking wise, I think they have space for about 7 moderately sized vehicles - we never failed to find a space - and the hotel keeps the keys for vehicles to maximise the amount of cars that can be accomodated. |Breakfast is good. |The only criticisms and the thing preventing a 5-star review and beyond the control of the hotel but still impact experience. As others have mentioned there is construction work happening next to the hotel and - making a bigger impact - on the road around the hotel (not sure how long this is scheduled to be for). Work starts around 07.30 in the morning and can make a level of noise and creating quite a dusty environment on the overlooking balconeis - it also serves to cut off the footpath. Additionally on our first all night there appeared to be a (illegal) party on the beach with extremely loud music being played. We contacted reception just before 00.30 and we told they’d rang the police three times already to report it. It seemed to go on until 3am making sleep almost impossible…..not sure if this is common during peak summer seasons, and it’s a reflection on the Crete authorities and not the hotel (but still, impacts visitor experience - luckily we were going home the next day)||So in summary, it’s a cracking hotel with wonderful staff in a perfect location to...

We really enjoyed our week at the Sansal hotel. We had a premier room which was very spacious, light and clean, with a large and comfortable bed. We did feel that more hangers in the wardrobe, a towel rail in the bathroom and a better located mirror (in a bright space rather than near the wardrobe) would have been useful but a lack of these things didn’t cause any problems. ||Every single staff member we met was really friendly and helpful. We enjoyed seeing the same faces at breakfast and then up at the rooftop pool bar where they made excellent cocktails. ||As the rooftop pool area is small we had been worried that we’d struggle to get a sunbed, but we didn’t have any problems. People seemed to come and go during the day so even if a bed wasn’t free when we arrived, we never waited long for one to free up. Only two of the beds are in the shade and it does get very hot up there, but the pool is very refreshing with beautiful views. ||We spent two days at Neo Chora beach. It’s a short walk from the hotel and there are plenty of sunbeds for hire and restaurants to go to at lunchtime. We went to one on the jetty near the fishing harbour and the food was very good (Mikrolimonia). ||The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring the old town - just a short walk to a really wide selection of shops, bars and restaurants. We avoided the more touristy restaurants on the harbour and had some lovely meals in the back streets of the Old Town where we felt there was more atmosphere. ||With regards to the building work next door, this didn’t really bother us. Once the music is playing in the pool bar you don’t really hear it. ||Thanks to George and all of the team for...

We absolutely loved it. 2 things that set Sansal apart: the team and location. George, Anna-Marie, Kostas to name a few, but everyone was brilliant. You're right next to the hustle and bustle of the old town, then once you're done, you have a 5 min stroll to peace and quiet again. The best of both worlds.

The team were always happy, smiling and their willingness to help with anything would make the most introverted of people at ease. This was exceptional. They have clearly taken great care with understanding the customer experience.

A lot to do in Chania, the old town, but would also recommend renting a car for a few days. A trip to Falasarna beach (Macaya was a great place to pitch up for the day), watch the sunset at Orange Blue, then dinner on the way back at Gramboussa restaurant (grow their own vegetables, lovely views, just a cool vibe). Another option would be a trip south to the olive groves, villages and the botanical gardens for something different. Again, the team were very helpful with recommendations and arranging everything. Renting a car is reasonable - c.€80 for the day.

We stayed in the executive suites, which were spacious, cleaned daily with a turndown (presume this is the same regardless of room, but you have a nice panel inside the room to request). They are located on the 6th floor (infinity pool on 7th), so you have the best view point and a long balcony with an outside bed. They didn't disappoint.

Sansal can arrange airport transfers to and from. Flat rate €35 one way, which is reasonable.

Breakfast was great, what you would expect, everything you need to get started for the day.

Other than that, relax and enjoy the...

Piękny hotel, dopracowany minimalistyczny styl. Wspaniała miła obsługa. Super zagospodarowany dach z basenem. Duże przestronne pokoje i balkony. Pokój na 3 piętrze z cudownym widokiem na morze. Na balkonie brakowało wieszaka żeby wywiesić mokre ręczniki czy rzeczy po pływaniu. Smaczne śniadania.

Our experience here was so great and amazing. First, the hotel is incredible. The hotel is barely new, it was build back 2020. So, I like the fact that it's so clean, very cozy and home like, with a modern-minimal design! One of the other many things (lol) The location is just perfect. It's a little bit tuck away from the old town, which is not too crowded and loud, but its 5-10 mins away from everywhere! It is right next to the water which is our view was beautiful and we can hear the wave which is so relaxing! Second, the breakfast was so good! My husband and I enjoyed their food every morning. (by the way it's way better than U.S.) They can cook the eggs for you, with however you want it. Oh they also have different types of pastries, savory or sweet! Your choice! And if you are a coffee lover, you will love their coffee. They will make it fresh for you and Greek coffee is a must try. Most of all their service and crew is outstanding! Manolis, Harry, Apostle, Constantine, Cristina and I forget the rest sorry if I forgot to mention, but this people are so professional, kind and very warm. They made our stay so easy, comfortable, memorable and it felt like we gained friends. They will recommend things to do, places to go and best restaurants you can dine. We are so glad we listened to them, we totally enjoyed our stay!. So without being said! I highly recommend this hotel. Definitely, we gonna comeback here again and see my friends again!. Chania is beautiful place to be, but what makes it more beautiful are the people like them. Thank you so much Sansal Boutique Hotel.
