As a Theater guy, I always appreciate new and different experiences, and this show definitely offers that. It definitely puts you in the environment of a Greek Wedding, it is certainly lively, but I think it falls short on some of the execution.
0-25 minutes in: you are standing in a room that puts you in a house in the 1940s. You are shown a video trying to orient you to the lead up to the evening. After, The people are conversing and exchanging banter, some of which is funny, but I will say having to just stand in one place for 25 minutes for essentially no reason was not my thing. I don’t think this section of the show really added anything of value.
25 minutes and after: you’re led into the room where you observe the festivities. You’re given a Greek salad, some wine, fruit, and some breadsticks and dip. These snacks are not good, and the wine was also not good. But, you’re there for the show, so it’s not a big deal. The musicians in the band are FANTASTIC, they are professionals of their craft, and their playing was one of the shining parts of the whole experience. The singers were okay, they mostly sang in tune, but honestly them being only okay kind of added to the charm and authenticity of the experience.
What’s really hard to get behind is that the show had no real plot line or story. They try to make a small one with one of the ladies and band members, but otherwise, as advertised, it’s a Greek wedding that you’re a part of. They may not be trying to create conflict or story and just want you to experience the different parts of a Greek wedding. But this, along with the unnecessary 25 minute prologue mentioned earlier, adds to a lot of extra “fluff” they could probably cut down on. This show runs for almost 2.5 hours, but could easily be a 1.5 hour show. Much of the dialogue doesn’t flow between scenes, and many of the songs don’t really go with the vibe; and there are some added artistic moments (like a random ballet dancer) that just didn’t make sense.
It is a very interactive show; they get you on the dance floor, and you get to break plates. For the dancing, the floor was very crowded so it was more shuffling than dancing, but the people involved were having a lot of fun. I’m not into that kind of thing, but 90% of the people there seemed to enjoy it!
My advice, go there to just enjoy the experience of being in a lively and interactive environment. I think that’s what it was intended for, and not for someone like me. If you go trying to get a professional and artistic theater experience, you will leave...
Read moreI’m from Santorini. I was born in Santorini. For years I had heard about this “Greek Wedding Show”, but I never had the chance to attend — until recently. That changed on Monday, June 2nd, when my girlfriend and I decided to experience it.
We arrived a little earlier than the starting time, and already the whole entrance hall was full of people! The ladies at the reception were incredibly polite and informed us about our table and that we were part of the groom’s family! That immediately added a layer of mystery.
The show begins. We walk down to the entrance and that's where we experience something unbelievable. Both my girlfriend and I are left speechless — literally — as we are transported to a completely different world the moment we enter the “bride’s house”. Antiques, colors, picture frames, sofas, smells, sensations... everything! It was like I had traveled to another world, one I never personally knew — the 60s and 70s.
Actors appeared from everywhere and immediately brought us into the spirit of this live interactive show. Amazing, alive, present.
My girlfriend and I were stunned, constantly looking around us, unable to believe that we were living such a moment — in Santorini.
We continued and stepped out into the courtyard, where the amphitheatrically arranged tables awaited us, along with traditional flavors and wine. The sets kept surprising me. Detail upon detail, the creators’ effort to transport us to another era continued — impressively and successfully.
Music, singing, a marriage of beloved Greek and timeless songs, harmoniously blended under the sounds of the bouzouki.
The actors were once again amazing. Monologues, dialogues, dancing. You couldn’t get bored — you didn’t even want to touch your phone. Not even to take pictures. You just wanted to be there — fully — and live it.
A wonderful evening, an incredible show, a cultural event in Santorini that, I truly believe, deserves even more respect and love — especially from us locals.
Thank you to everyone who put even a small stone in building what I...

Where to begin? Overall we had much much higher expectations.
21:15 - you are supposed to arrive 15min early. For what? Just so you wait cramped in with 100 people in a hot small corrdior. No thanks!
21:30 - you are asked into a hot, dark room, again all cramped - where they make you stand and watch a movie on a screen - why?! There’s basically no story to it overall, to add there are just some meaningless screaming by the actors. Everyone in the room seemed to get frustrated by having to wait there. Take this as constructive feedback and make this shorter for the sake of guests patience.
21:45 - you get seated by your tables - don’t expect „food“ - for a table of 2 just some little snacks: few slices of white bread, very small Greek salad, a couple of dips to share and a small thing of table wine (headache incoming). We were a party of 4 and only got one bottle of water. Not well planned. Don’t expect that you will get any other snacks or that they will refill anything… they only fill up your wine once towards the end of the show. Again, very small amount. If you are thirsty, you are out of luck.
Performance: I would have given this 1 star only but to respect the actors, which put in effort, I give this 2.
Story: there is none, it’s is very boring and hard to follow. Whoever created / directed this show deserves 0 stars. They claim it’s the 1940s but then they play cheap covers of newer songs (e.g. Sam Smith - whyyyyy?!) - how is this a traditional Greek wedding?! 0 authenticity. Extremely disappointed.
Interactivity: all they do is ask you to join them „dance“ a couple of times and break a plate at the end of the show. Not very original.
We left extremely disappointed and fooled by other reviews. We couldn’t wait to get out of there.
Look, perhaps if you get there tipsy/drunk, you will „enjoy“ some of the dancing but there is 0 storyline and originality. Sorry to say that. It’s a cheap attempt to an interactive musical show. Definitely don’t expect anything...
