The hotel seemed really good on paper and its price made us believe that the place, view/location, and service will be immaculate, but when we arrived we quickly realised how the place isn’t what we expected.
Upon arriving, there are hair and dusts on the floor, and even some lashes around the bed area, hence we are quite disappointed with its cleanliness.
We were there for 4 nights and the breakfast service was never on time. We wanted the breakfast to come at 10:00 but they came knocking at 8:30 while we were still asleep. We also had to ask for things a lot of times (eg: replenishing water and tissues), as we weren’t given enough everyday. And when we ask for things we had to wait for quite a while and sometimes the staff forget about it as well, which is quite annoying when that happens almost everytime.
The room that we got also had a poor design, we had two rooms and the ceiling of the second floor room is really low and you can’t stand up straight (especially for men), I am around 163cm and will totally bump my head if I am slightly taller. And there are some funny barriers in weird places where we kept bumping ourselves. One of the toilets had a window between a bedroom, and the window can only be opened from the bedroom??? (absolutely makes no sense). That very toilet also had blurred glass door THAT OMBRÉ INTO CLEAR AND YOU CAN SEE INTO THE TOILET SO CLEARLY IF YOU STAND UP, again, make it make sense. (same door and window thing for one of the showers as well).
The best part of the hotel would have to be the view and the location, and the fact that we didn’t have to buy water ourselves are the main benefits. But with this price, we definitely expected more.
Also, the manager seemed really nice and helpful when we first arrived, but we quickly realised he didn’t really care as he didn’t seem to be active to attend to our requests. He is really good at making things sound nice (I will give him that lol). We tried to chalk his delay in service to being busy, but then their other staffs were quick to give us what we need, unlike him, but what we do know.🤦🏻♀️
Overall, it is not a really bad stay, as it is true that you will have all you need here, but with this price, we feel we could have had a much better experience and less frustrations if the hotel attend more to the details.
(our room was the one with two bedrooms, would totally not recommend this room if you are...

Read moreWe had an incredible experience at Nefeles Luxury Suites in Santorini! Describing the heavenly views from the rooms feels like an understatement - it's undoubtedly the prime location to stay in Fira! From the initial booking process to the seamless airport pick-up and drop-off, delightful breakfast, and the traditional cave-style room designs, everything exceeded our expectations.
A particularly thoughtful touch was the assistance with our luggage, which was carried to and from the cab during check-in and check-out. However, we'd like to provide a small piece of feedback regarding the stairs inside the room and at the entrance of the washroom. For those with mobility issues, it might pose a challenge, especially at night. Despite this, our stay in the Junior suite with an outdoor hot tub was thoroughly enjoyable, even during the winter months!
We did encounter a slight hiccup due to a 2-hour power cut on the island during our first day, resulting in the absence of breakfast. The staff, however, went above and beyond by sending someone to our room (which involves navigating a fair amount of stairs from the reception area) to inform us about the situation.
Nefeles is truly a hidden gem nestled in the rugged mountainous landscape of Fira, conveniently close to the island's main attractions and the central marketplace. Kudos to the entire staff at Nefeles for contributing to a truly...
