The Horniman Circle Gardens is a large park in South Mumbai, India,It is situated in the Fort district of Mumbai, and is surrounded by office complexes housing the country's premier banks. Designed to be a large open space with grand buildings in the middle of the walled city, the area had been known as Bombay Green in the 18th century, while the area around it was called Elphinstone Circle. Following India's independence in 1947, the area was renamed in honour of Benjamin Horniman, editor of The Bombay Chronicle newspaper, who supported Indian independence. Very well maintained and especially clean and empty on weekends. Very picturesque location. Parking available if you want to go inside the park. The street is good for cycling as well as for photoshoots. You may take a walk outside the park as well. It is located right in front of the Asiatic society of Mumbai and is lush green. A place not to be missed when visiting this area of Mumbai. This place has very eye-catching historic British architecture style Buildings. Its located in the vicinity of the Asiatic library, BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) and RBI (Reserve Bank of India).

One of the most iconic places of old Mumbai. A beautiful garden in the midst of some awesome architecture. It is one of the very few landmarks named after a British person, in post independence India and correctly so. The garden is named after the couragous Benjamin Horniman, the Editor of The Bombay Chronicle. He was one of the men who defied the British attempts at a cover up and shared the detailed horrors of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in his papers, letting the entire nation know about it. One one side you have the Asiatic Society of Bombay which overlooks the Horniman Circle Gardens and the old and new Reserve Bank of India buildings. Close by is St. Thomas Cathedral, the first Anglican church in Mumbai, which was completed in 1718

Horniman circle garden is getting beautified and work is in-progress. The two words of “Horniman Circle” have a lot of significance. Firstly the word “Circle” relates to one of the oldest landmarks earlier known as Elphinstone Circle, it’s foundation was laid in 1821. The word “Horniman” relates to the person who was an Irish-born British journalist who supported India in the independence movement playing a significant role in it. His name was Benjamin Horniman. Benjamin Horniman was an Irish-born British journalist born in 1873. Benjamin Horniman died in 1948. With respect to his dedicated effort towards India’s independence, the Elphinstone Circle was named as Horniman Circle.

The garden was originally known as Elphinstone Circle and was designed in 1869 by J.H. Horniman. It was later renamed Horniman Circle in honor of Benjamin Horniman. Well it is great place for it's unique vintage look. In the morning sun hits in the building pillars which gives adorable views for photographers. Eventually in the morning mostly you can see photographers are surrounded throughout the area it makes little mess to take good photos still it has view which is unpredictable. And the next side there has library which has stunning look with white background even. So you can vist the place for free of cost. But still it has drawbacks like most probably the walk way are not clean and tidy but still BMC are making there development over these places
