Overall the experience here was not that great. Ambience is good but not worth the money they charge. It is hyped due to the location as it is at churchgate the sobo price . So there is valet parking available here so we parked our car but then it's paid and no one informed us earlier we had the option of free parking nearby but anyways we paid them. They greet you well at the door. Dinner /Lunch Table placing is good. The staff is super busy and half of the time the managers/ Supervisor go def ears on purpose. The staff who is actually serving the food or clearing the table are actually good but supervisor/manger they deny them from helping. So we went there for my mom's birthday and we were 8 of us so someone brought cake and it was ice cream we asked the waiter to keep it in the freezer if possible and he agreed but the supervisor or the manager who was standing there denied he said only if you have taken from the restaurant then only the can keep or else they won't but we requested them it a ice cream cake it will melt and we can't have it before dinner yet he refused. And there are no instructions as of outside cake is not allowed if someone is coming to celebrate an occasion or birthday and is not aware will bring the cake and ask the restaurant to keep it but anyways these were super rude people and they did not at any cost keep it. We had to cut the cake before dinner and eat the ice cream before we could eat anything. Since cake is a sugary item our stomachs were already full but yet dinner had to be so we did. We had no option to leave from there as it was a weekend and waiting at other place was too much we did check out but did not get anything. We had ordered machow soup which was pre made and kept since how many days we don't know but that's what that supervisor said. We informed him to make less spicy and less garlic but he was like it's already made on kept we do not do it on spot we just heat it and give it was a night mare. Anyways we ordered and taste of it was bad our money wasted we couldn't consume. Then we order roti and vegetable that was decent already our mood was terrible due to the behaviour of the restaurant we just felt like have and leave. So ya the experience here on a weekend is bad please i suggest don't visit. I have much better experiences at good restaurants on a weekend even if it is over crowded or a lot of waiting is there or the place is small or big It does not matter the behaviour of the restaurant staff is good so please visit the place which treats you well and you can enjoy your food and don't forget you are paying for it so it has to be good.

Samrat Restaurant, the name itself suggests that you will be served food in a royal way. Vithal Kamath's Samrat Restaurant is really great and it also has a great ambiance, and very polite service is provided, you will feel like you are having your meal at home. The place is located just 5-8 mins away from Churchgate Railway Station. I visited this restaurant many a times and recently I visited this place last week wherein few foreigners also gave a visit to this place. The place really gives you different delicacies from around the world such as mexican, thai, chinese, italian, indian and many more cuisines. The restaurant has a speciality of indian delicacies which will really make you feel good. The restaurant has a good service and fully A/C rich and comfortable seating wherein there is melodious music played in the ambiance which delightes anybodies' mind if a person gets to hear while dining. I will truly recommend that family as well as friends must give a try to this place as it gives you the ultimate dining experience. Amongst indian cuisine, you can have thalis from around different states of the nation or even various dishes in common in the cuisine. There occurs a situation in food industry wherein sometimes the food outlets has to compromise either with quality or quantity but it is great thing that Samrat Restaurant has focused on serving good quality as well as good quantity. What We Had : • Starters 1. Mini Vada Paav Small/Mini vadas sorted between mini burger buns with chatni applied onto it and served with chatni. 2. Masala Khichiya Papad Crunchy Khichiya Papad with finely chopped tomatoes, onions, & cucumbers with coriender and masala topped and sprinkled. • Main Course 1. Dal Tadka Indian style lentils cooked with spicy and yummy tadka in it. 2. Dum Aalo Kashmiri Kashmiri style dum aalo cooked with creamy gravy with light spicy and juicy taste. 3. Pulkas with ghee Phulkas served with ghee which are tandoor fried. • Desserts 1. Malai Kulfi Thanda Thanda Cool Cool Malai Kulfi served with falooda type rose syrup sides. I was really delighted by the overall service and food and ambiance. Ratings will be : Ambiance 5/5 Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Recommended 5/5 Value For Money 5/5 Hygiene 5/5

Samrat Restaurant in Churchgate is a true delight for anyone who appreciates authentic vegetarian Indian cuisine. The place exudes an elegant, old-school charm with a peaceful ambiance, making it ideal for both family get-togethers and formal meetings. The star attraction is the Gujarati thali — beautifully arranged and generously portioned with farsan, vegetables, dal, kadhi, puris, rotis, rice, and a sweet dish. Every item is fresh, full of flavor, and brings the comfort of home-cooked food. The staff is warm and attentive, always ensuring your plate is full and your experience is pleasant. Beyond the thali, their Punjabi dishes are just as impressive. We tried the Veg Kolhapuri, Chana Palak, and Chole Bhature — all packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. The garlic naan was soft, perfectly cooked, and complemented the curries beautifully. The entire restaurant is spotless and very well-maintained. Despite the crowd during peak hours, the service is smooth, quick, and efficient. The staff deserves a special mention for their excellent hospitality — friendly, prompt, and professional. A special shout-out to Chef Raju More, whose passion for cooking truly reflects in every dish. His culinary skills add that special touch, making each meal feel crafted with love. Whether you’re a Mumbaikar or just visiting South Mumbai, Samrat Restaurant is a must-visit spot for a hearty, satisfying, and authentic vegetarian dining experience.

My recent dining experience at Samrat Restaurant in Churchgate, Mumbai, was nothing short of exceptional, earning it a well-deserved five-star review.

Ambiance: The moment I stepped into Samrat, I was struck by the warm and inviting ambiance. The restaurant's interior is tastefully decorated, creating a cozy and pleasant atmosphere for diners. The elegant lighting and comfortable seating added to the overall charm.

Service: The service at Samrat was truly top-notch. The staff was not only attentive and courteous but also highly knowledgeable about the menu. They made excellent recommendations and ensured that every aspect of our dining experience was flawless.

Cuisine: The highlight of our visit was, of course, the exquisite cuisine. Samrat offers a diverse and mouthwatering menu that caters to a wide range of tastes. We indulged in a variety of dishes, including traditional Indian delicacies and Mughlai specialties. The flavors were rich, authentic, and left us craving for more.

Presentation: The presentation of each dish was a work of art. From the way the dishes were plated to the vibrant colors and aromatic spices, it was clear that the chefs at Samrat take great pride in their culinary creations.

Hygiene and Cleanliness: Given the heightened importance of hygiene, particularly in today's environment, I was pleased to see that Samrat maintained impeccable cleanliness and sanitation standards. The restaurant's commitment to the safety of its patrons was evident throughout our visit.

Desserts: To complete our delightful meal, we couldn't resist trying some of the delectable desserts on offer. The sweet treats were the perfect ending to a memorable dining experience.

In conclusion, Samrat Restaurant in Churchgate, Mumbai, exceeded all expectations in terms of ambiance, service, cuisine quality, and overall dining experience. It's an ideal destination for a special occasion or a fine dining experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Samrat to anyone seeking an unforgettable culinary journey in the heart of Mumbai. Five stars...
