Overall the experience here was not that great. Ambience is good but not worth the money they charge. It is hyped due to the location as it is at churchgate the sobo price .
So there is valet parking available here so we parked our car but then it's paid and no one informed us earlier we had the option of free parking nearby but anyways we paid them.
They greet you well at the door. Dinner /Lunch Table placing is good. The staff is super busy and half of the time the managers/ Supervisor go def ears on purpose. The staff who is actually serving the food or clearing the table are actually good but supervisor/manger they deny them from helping.
So we went there for my mom's birthday and we were 8 of us so someone brought cake and it was ice cream we asked the waiter to keep it in the freezer if possible and he agreed but the supervisor or the manager who was standing there denied he said only if you have taken from the restaurant then only the can keep or else they won't but we requested them it a ice cream cake it will melt and we can't have it before dinner yet he refused. And there are no instructions as of outside cake is not allowed if someone is coming to celebrate an occasion or birthday and is not aware will bring the cake and ask the restaurant to keep it but anyways these were super rude people and they did not at any cost keep it. We had to cut the cake before dinner and eat the ice cream before we could eat anything. Since cake is a sugary item our stomachs were already full but yet dinner had to be so we did. We had no option to leave from there as it was a weekend and waiting at other place was too much we did check out but did not get anything.
We had ordered machow soup which was pre made and kept since how many days we don't know but that's what that supervisor said. We informed him to make less spicy and less garlic but he was like it's already made on kept we do not do it on spot we just heat it and give it was a night mare. Anyways we ordered and taste of it was bad our money wasted we couldn't consume. Then we order roti and vegetable that was decent already our mood was terrible due to the behaviour of the restaurant we just felt like have and leave.
So ya the experience here on a weekend is bad please i suggest don't visit. I have much better experiences at good restaurants on a weekend even if it is over crowded or a lot of waiting is there or the place is small or big It does not matter the behaviour of the restaurant staff is good so please visit the place which treats you well and you can enjoy your food and don't forget you are paying for it so it...

Vithal Kamath's Samrat Restaurant is really great and it also has a great ambiance, and very polite service is provided, you will feel like you are having your meal at home. The place is located just 5-8 mins away from Churchgate Railway Station. I visited this restaurant many a times and recently I visited this place last week wherein few foreigners also gave a visit to this place. The place really gives you different delicacies from around the world such as mexican, thai, chinese, italian, indian and many more cuisines.
The restaurant has a speciality of indian delicacies which will really make you feel good. The restaurant has a good service and fully A/C rich and comfortable seating wherein there is melodious music played in the ambiance which delightes anybodies' mind if a person gets to hear while dining. I will truly recommend that family as well as friends must give a try to this place as it gives you the ultimate dining experience. Amongst indian cuisine, you can have thalis from around different states of the nation or even various dishes in common in the cuisine. There occurs a situation in food industry wherein sometimes the food outlets has to compromise either with quality or quantity but it is great thing that Samrat Restaurant has focused on serving good quality as well as good quantity.
