This is a great place to people watch or grab something to eat or drink. It's on the middle of a lot of hotels and restaurants and the public Square always seem to have something going on. Very pedestrian friendly and lots of benches to relax at. We saw lots of tourists but also lots of locals too. They are completing another hotel that will be a mix of some old and new buildings. They have murals up that describe what the history is and what it will eventually become.

Central place in Reykjavik for all shopping and eateries joints. The place is well connected to all hotels and main street. The good part is cars are not allowed so it's a car free street of shopping and a wide range of restaurants that gives happy hours offers on drinks as well as good offers on combo meals. There are entertainment activities you must explore

Ingólfur Square in downtown Reykjavík becomes a beautifully-lit square with an ice rink around Christmas time. A lively square with a lot of bars, restaurants and cafés in the vicinity, Ingólfur square is readily accessible on foot from some of Reykjavík’s key landmarks. Worth a stop whilst downtown!

There are shops, just not around the square. It’s a very great spot for tourist shopping- just always be prepared for prices (It’s Iceland after all). I found some pretty amazing things here, as the rest of the country didn’t really have places to buy souvenirs. Walkable and Beautiful!

My kids had so much fun ice skating here. There are many cafes, stores, and restaurants around, so after skating, we went to have fish and chips and 101 Bistro nearby for lunch. It’s a lovely place to hang out with the family, and there are a ton of things to do.

Nice place to stop for a drink and something to eat. If you have gone to Iceland you know it's not cheap. I had to try the tasting platter. It was salmon minky whale horse and puffin. It was ok but not sure I won't have it again.
