Below review was for older days : If you're looking for a vegetarian restaurant in Bangalore South that's been serving up delicious and authentic Indian cuisine since 1995, look no further than this mid-sized gem. From mouthwatering South Indian delicacies to delectable North Indian dishes, this restaurant has it all. I'm a happy customer of this restaurant from the inauguration day. 😊
One of the highlights of this restaurant is their paneer dishes. If you're a fan of paneer, you won't be disappointed. The paneer is always fresh and perfectly cooked, and the sauces and spices used are a perfect complement to the dish. Another must-try is their Kaju Masala. For those looking for something a little more exotic, all varieties of Biryani, vegetable fried rice, Vegetable Ball Manchurian & Mushroom ghee roast are fantastic options. North Indian Veg Thali available only for lunch.
But it's not just the food that makes this restaurant great. The service is good, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. They're knowledgeable about the menu and can make recommenda based on your tastes and preferences. The restaurant itself is clean and well-maintained, creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.
Overall, if you're looking for a fantastic vegetarian restaurant in Bangalore South, this restaurant is a must-visit. With delicious food, excellent service, and a friendly staff, it's the perfect place for a family meal or a night out...
Read moreWe visited Gokul Veg for dinner. We ordered Hot and Sour soup and for starters, ordered Mushroom Ghee roast and Aloo Pudina chilli dry.
Hot and Sour soup was very very basic, had no garlic or ginger and had the viscosity of water. The chef decided to add coriander leaves to the soup, which is a first for me. The soup even had tomatoes!! They should have called it tomato-coriander rasam.
Mushroom ghee roast and Aloo Pudina chilli dry were average. The mushrooms smelled like they were roasted in ghee, but had no distinctive taste. Aloo Pudina chilli dry was potatoes in mint sauce. Again, nothing worthy of remembering.
For mains, we ordered Veg biryani, Butter roti and Veg Pepper masala. Butter roti was okay, but wasn't as soft as the usual butter roti. Veg Pepper masala was tasteless. Though Veg Pepper masala had veggies, it was neither peppery nor spicy.
Don't get me started on Veg biryani. Who adds breadcrumbs to Biryani? That too, burnt breadcrumbs? I wonder if they served us morning's Pulav as biryani, as breadcrumbs are added to pulav!
For dessert, we ordered Gudbud special, Gudbud mini and Chocolate magic. Gudbud had 4 level icecreams - butterscotch, vanilla, rose and mango. They were not creamy, but hard. There were some cashew, apple and pineapple. It was really disappointing. Chocolate magic was okay.
Overall, I didn't like the food here and wouldn't recommend it. It was a depressing experience.
